How much faith do you have in people?

A lot, i trust others completely, and know that absolutely everyone will do the right thing and be humans beings toward one another.

I give the benefit of the doubt a lot, and have faith that they won't screw me next time, but more mindful than the first choice.
4 (8.2%)
I give benefit of the doubt where it is due, i don't trust everyone completely, not everyone will be a human being to each other.
19 (38.8%)
I have zero faith in others except my friends...they're worth a damn unlike the 5 other drivers in a row who didn't use their turn signal before getting onto that highway exit and are just bewildered why they got pulled over.
7 (14.3%)
I have zero faith in others...humanity going down the toilet in a bread basket...well what's in the basket at least use to be bread (continues flushing the **** with plunger, snake, drano, septic pump, and incinerator on standby)

Person by person basis...i run into some decent people...and i run into some real pieces of crap...there's a scale here somewhere, but i don't care.
11 (22.4%)
I really just don't know...something to ponder.

Re: How much faith do you have in people?
For myself, I don't find this hard to answer. I have faith in my friends and god, no faith in anyone else.

But here in lies the issue. . . what is this faith? I myself don't believe in a deity, but if you do, surely you don't trust God to look out for your earthly interests in the least; and your friends certainly don't make you a priority in everything they do.

People can be mostly depended to follow patterns, but rarely are such patterns so absurdly bad or good to be thought of as faith.

Re: How much faith do you have in people?
A fair point. Yes, it happens. Yes, its standard human response. The difference? I, and I'm sure others do this too, realize they are passing judgement when they have no right to, nor the knowledge necessary to do so, and stop. They rethink their opinions, say to themselves, "I know nothing about this person," and they move on. That, IMO, is what people should do, instead of adopting this "we're  all assholes" pack mentality we're so fond of.

Of course, the mentality that leads you to think you can't trust anyone is in no way benefic (i guess), our society stands on the mutual respect and collaboration basis...even when it seems that it's not founded on that at all.
But note that you do have the right to pass judgement whenever you want, even without knowledge or reasons to back it up with, well.. that's what I like to think.

Re: How much faith do you have in people?
I wound up going with the third option.  Just by looking around throughout my life, I've seen examples of humanity at its worst, and humanity at its best.  The thing is, though, whenever a segment of humanity shows its worst, it seems like a lot more people step in and show its best.  I'm inclined to give most people the benefit of the doubt until proven otherwise; any other path sets you on the fast-track to total cynicism.

Faith is belief in the absence of proof, and I refuse to believe in people absent proof.

I am electrons stored on some server to do my own automated doing, like judgefloro. Unlike the floro AI, i'm not driven crazy by dwarves, but perhaps search engine spiders instead.
Every pilot's goal is to rise up in the ranks and go beyond their purpose to a place of command on a very big ship. Like the colossus; to baseball bat everyone.

I trust everyone unconditionally, unless there is considerable evidence that someone can not be trusted.

Re: How much faith do you have in people?
Actually you had it correct the first time.  There's no parentheses around the -10.  So the Big Book of Math Rules says that it is supposed to be read by default as -(10evenpower), not (-10)evenpower.  The result is negative.

In my world of sleepers, everything will be erased.
I'll be your religion, your only endless ideal.
Slowly we crawl in the dark.
Swallowed by the seductive night.
