Well being a HW and FS uber fan I thought about what I could do for a FS2 campaign+mod. Essentially, what if Freespace had encountered the Beast?

Not promising a BP level campaign thats for sure lol. Thinking of simply basing it off Cataclysm's campaign. Thanks to whoever did the ship hitpoints regen code btw

(since that is a quality of Beast ships)
Anyway, some things I want to ask about.
1. Fade in infection process possible? I figured out how to have a normal aeolus change model into the infected one, was easy. Of course it just suddenly changes into that when the event triggers. Also the ship that changes keeps the ship sound of the original, instead of changing to the proper Beast ship sound (the beams stop working too but I know how to fix that).
2. I'm going with the Beast infection beam as a TAG weapon and I'd have all ships that are supposed to be infected given events that make them change when tagged (unless there is a better way to do this?). I'm going to assume the beam can't be made to bounce to nearby ships?
3. Very large Beast capital ships (Mothership class) have a similar effect to critically damaged FS ships (the electricity fx), not sure if I heard right about that, but can it be made to always occur on a ship regardless of health, or for a duration (when ships were infected in Cataclysm that effect played during the conversion process then stopped)?
4. Cruise missile kamikaze infection ideas anyone? Uber short range TAG weapon with no effects (but causes the missile to kill itself)?
Should also say I intend no Shivan things at all to be involved as I'm going with this taking place after FS2, by how much idk maybe like 19 years or something.
