if anyone has one that doesn't function but the main circuit board in the base is intact i need it - _OR_ - if you can get a 47 uFarad 50Volt Radial Capacitor

that capacitor is blown on mine and it controls main power - without it the X,Y and Z axis don't function and force feedback is off line

I looked for those components, i have them here, but i am not going to send it all the way to the USA;)

Kazan, buy a new one. Maybe the Microsoft Force feedback joysticks. They are not too bad.

ok i tried it with a 35V [50V was overkill.. the rated input is 24V]... either it immediately blew out.. or that's not the only thing wrong

and i will not purchase anything from microsoft - i just made the mistake of leaving the joystick plugged into power for 10 times the rated lifespan of it's main voltage regulation capacitor

I had one of those, it was prety fun, but after about a month it started behaveing eraticly, so much so that I couldn't controle anything

Did you test any of the other major components?

If you replaced the capacitor with a decent quality (im talking 5% variable here, not the bog-standard 20% ones) and the thing didnt work something else has blown out.

Dude, why frell up your warranty?  Get an RMA and send it back.  With any luck, they'll send you a Wingman Strike Force 3D by mistake.  (worth $20 more than the one you have)

Ohh, just so you know.  The voltage rating on the outside is the maximum voltage it can take, not what it needs.

How can it be out of warranty already?  I got mine the year they came out (Christmas gift) and they have a 3 year warranty according to the card I got.  Its only been two and half years since I got it.
