Star Wars: Ep. 2 review
:D :D :D :D :D

The whole theatre erupted into shouts when...well, you'll see!
So as through a glass, and darkly
The age long strife I see
Where I fought in many guises,
Many names, but always me.

There are only 10 types of people in the world , those that understand binary and those that don't.

"shouts" could mean anything. Good shouts or angry shouts?

Star Wars: Ep. 2 review
They were good shouts.  And then later, at the end of the "well, you'll see" they all laughed.  At least in my theater.  [grin]

  --TurboNed

EDIT: Just for clarification - it was a good laughter.  [grin again]

EDIT AGAIN:  Oh, yeah, I also wanted to put in the following score for the movie:

:D :D :D :D :D  out of 5  (quality of film)

:jaw: :jaw: :jaw: :jaw:  out of 5 (awe factor)

"It is the year 2000, but where are the flying cars? I was promised flying cars! I don't see any flying cars. Why? Why? Why?" - Avery Brooks from an IBM commercial

This movie was UN****INGBELIEVABLE!!! So about my language. :D But this movie is gonna be a classic, for that one part where we all cheered also! This movie is incredible and makes Episode 1 better. Its on par with the original trilogy, trust me. I love it!

Anyone who says they like this one should qualify that opinion by also saying what they thought of Phantom Menace.

Seriously.

Well, I liked The Phantom Menace. :D Ok, it was a bit too goody goody and childish. But wasn't that the point? Yup I liked Episode 1, and I LOVE Episode 2! :D

:) I just got back home from seeing it.   hehe
I guess the shout was when Yoda, Lightsaber in hand, assumed position and  gave that
 " F u c k  y o u   u p,    I   w i l l ..." look.   :D

BTW  that's NOT what he says. :D hehe

Yep!  Theat will go along as a Star Wars classic. Plenty of everything, Great animation, (I recognised MAYA, some Lightwave and soft image). but the end left me a little... "what? That's it?" Kinda feel.

Indeed, saw it this morning and it's certainly going to be an epic film. Every second of it was 100% good film. Lucas did good this time.

Oh. My. God.

Second only to Empire Strikes Back, Although so far it's been voted most popular. I was going to go in again, but the guys held me back. We'll see it again next week. For now, Rogue Leader beckons.

w00t Star Wars! Yoda 0wNz j00 (or is it Jango w0t 0wNz j00? They're both majorly 133+)

I like Star Wars.

Damn... I can't believe so many critics actually gave it such poor reviews. Thats so funny too, cause what I've heard, the majority of the PEOPLE think it rather kicks ass.

I can't help but just think that the critics somehow overlooked it in some way. Did they expect somesort of über emotional, selfdiscovery, soulsearching movie that will win all the years oscars? hmpf. Funny too, cause when Star Wars (1977) came out the critics hated that too, but the people loved it. :D

NOTE: There are some minor spoilers here but they are fairly general...skip if you wish. :D

I liked it. Very good; far superior to Phantom Menace. The start was good though it then flagged a little; however it kicked off again soon enough on Kamino and Tatooine... :)

The battles were awe-inspiring and some of the ships were awesome :jaw: - Republic ginship = I WANT ONE. In addition, you can see all the threads starting to come together and Dooku is a much better enemy than Maul ever was...

===

Now. Criticisms.

There are a few dodgy lines...but that is to be expected. It's Star Wars... :p - in addition, it suffered from the same "let's make really short scenes" thing that the Phantom Menace did. This meant that sometimes they felt underdevolped and there was too much jumping around. This was mostly at the beginning. Characterisation got better as the film went on.

Also, does anyone agree with me that though the effects are great, they're a little soulless-looking - the old films' effects felt like they had more 'love' put in.

Mind you, I'm comparing it against the original trilogy which I grew up with and haven't watched in a while - so maybe I'm being overly harsh. :D

Trilogy ships were all old and beaten so looked like they'd been in space fighting the good fight, but new trilogy ships are all sparkly and shiny. And you have to take into account, when you have a fleet of the same class ships, they either all look sparkly and new or they all have exactly the same damage, wear and tear and look really fake.

I also kinda meant that people had made them with their own hands, blah blah blah. Not that I'm a fan of that kind of stuff - I love CG because it makes effects easier and more realistic. Besides, otherwise I would be doing carpentry not FS2. :D

Besides, the original trilogy look better CG enhanced, of course. And there are less bad haircuts in the new ones than the old. :p

Yeah, thats actually quite right. Never actually thought about it, but there did seem to be a lot of jumping around, from scene to scene not giving any of them enough screen time. But just might be because when the first trilogy was made, there was a tiht budget, so alot more was happening on fewer sets, hence fewer scene changes. But with the now limitles possibilites of CGI and unlimited budget, it calls for more options. However, usually someone would sellect the options he would want to do instead of doing the whole list of them. :D But anyway, it's still a good and solid movie, on par with the originals. Another theory about the "short scene syndrome" might be the fact that some of them are so damn cool, that we want them to go on futher, but if that were so, it would get boring, fast.  :D Oh well, got my tickets for another viewing. :D
