...there is apparently widepsread outrage over the Toronto zoo's decision to temporarily split up two pair-bonded male penguins in order to attempt to use them for breeding.

Let's be clear, I can discuss homosexual behaviours across species with the best of them, but there is very little to suggest that homosexual mating behaviours in other species, particularly birds, is a direct equivalent of homosexuality in humans.

The fact that gay right's groups are occupying their time with this is, frankly, ridiculous.

In all seriousness, I don't believe the 'bonded' penguins would at all suffer from separation. Some penguins do bond for life, but I don't think African penguins do. I'm not against gay rights, but the activists really should focus on other issues... maybe those pertaining to actual humans this time?
