Given deer overpopulation, maybe that wouldn't be a bad thing. Besides, who knows, maybe it's a recessive trait.

Although I think the overpopulation is largely caused by people eliminating their natural predators, so it might not make a difference.

deer are rather stupid. i mean apparently raising a gun up and taking aim isnt a very aggressive gesture in their eyes. they wont get spooked at all. it doesnt realize whats going on until they hear a bang and feel a bullet sever their spine in two. of course by then its impossible to react. so when i return home wearing its liver as a hat, and its tied to front of my four wheeler, i can really appreciate my superior intellect.

You have exceptionally stupid deer, since the ones I remember would react to any sort of motion performed at better than a millimeter a second.

It always amazes me how the species can't seem to figure out that an area frequented by big loud fast-moving objects with bright lights on the front is maybe something they want to stay away from.

The only places i've seen wild animals of all kind actually avoid are native villages. A moose, deer, bear, etc. know better than to step into a village since it will entail a guarantee of food for the villagers.

Wild animals in most other inhabited areas of alaska are way too comfy. A lot of animals are intelligent (excluding deer and tree rats). It's all just a problem of not enough and even requiring similar intelligence to us for staying away from roads with the loud fast moving objects/monsters.
