I was always woundering why is Kyle Katarn's lightsaber blue in Jedi Outcast when it was green in Dark Forces 2 ( well yellow if you turned to the light side)

Anyone have a  good logical explenation on this one?

You never saw it? Right under the button that turns on the lightsaber, there's a little color wheel that lets you have you laser sword in blue, blue-green, green, yellow, orange, red, or purple. There's also a light-pink lightsaber, but due to light interference problems, that can't cut through things, just vibrate and feel warm and vaguely tickly.

See now, that's the thing I was thinking about for the last 2 seconds. It didn't take me long to realize that either.

Who cares about which color of lightsaber is more powerful? As long I like the color and I think its cool for a Jedi, who cares?! Just use it!:D Slice and dice!

Yeah blue owns. And it is very symbolic when you fight a dark jedi. He is red, which represents bloodshed and evil, and you are blue, the color of good things.

Anyway, it is a nice game. One minus is that music should have been more dynamic like in The Phantom Mennace (the game). Well the music in the last level owns.

Anyway, what I am most impressed by are the lightsaber battles. That reminds me. When I fought Tavion, I thought:" Bah she is girly pants! Anyway, I underestimated her and well.... but with practice, I mannaged to win. :D

By the way, why the heck does every Dark Jedi says to a lightsider: Join me!! Dessan did it, Vader did it, Emperor did it. Everyone did! And what did Dessan exactly mean when he said: The force will betray you to me. Did he think that Kyle would surrender to him or something?

Well this may be an OT post, but I just want your opinions.

Tavion made me her little *****. I underestimated her due to my experience with the little Reborn cronies. After a while though, taking on multiple Reborn and Shadow Troopers was cake. I was really disappointed fighting Desaan though. His flunkies were far harder.

Expediency. You don't have to fight an ally (well, usually, thanks Jan. Nice blaster in the back). The comment about the Force is, I think, a warning. Every force power you use, he just reflects, absorbs or otherwise ignores it. You can't beat him at his own game. He sees through the mindtrick, he shrugs off lighting, he can't be gripped, and he can't be pushed or pulled.

Of course he can be distracted by five seeker drones and shown his role with when he decides to throw his saber like a pansy girl. ;)

True that. Lightsabers can be any color; Knight Templar is correct in saying that the color of the lightsaber just depends on the color of the focusing gem. No color does more damage than any other color.

Any Jedi, whether he/she/it is a lightside or darkside Jedi, can have any color he wants provided they have the right colored focusing gem. Just look at Jerec and his cronies from Jedi Knight 1; they are had different color sabers. Jerec uses a red saber, true, but so does Princess Leia in the New Jedi Order books. So seeing a red saber is no guarantee that you're facing a Sith Lord or even a Dark Jedi.

(That was one reason why I was disappointed in Episode II: the scene with 200 Jedi all fighting in the same battle and they only have blue and green sabers? C'mon, where's the color diversity? we've seen in the comp games that had Jedi and in the comics and RPG books? Lucas fumbled the ball on this detail, IMHO. Oh, ok, Lucas DID give Mace Windu a purple saber, whoo hoo. :doubt: )

Apparently, however, there is some sort of tradition that Sith lords (Namely, Darth vader, Darth Sidious, Darth Maul and Count Dooku AKA Darth Tyrannus) should wield red-colored sabers. I'm just assuming this, but it seems reasonable. Since the only Sith we ever see from the movies are the above characters, it's reasonable to assume that the Sith tradition of red-only sabers exists (maybe).

So while all Sith use red lightsabers, not everyone who uses a red saber is a Sith (or even a Dark Jedi!).

Dessan easy? Huh make me laugh please. No Force power can defeat him. He absorbs lightning, can't be gripped and well can be pushed or pulled from time to time. But his lightsaber moves really slam me down. I can't block him easely and when our sabers lock, he pushes me 10 meters back. Whoa! He is really STRONG with the force. Besides look at the size comparisons. He is massive and Kyle is week and small. Huh are all Kowakian monkey lizards like him? No wait, he is oversized. :D
