The Tiamat is hard to destroy, and it's not important. I've managed to destroy it, but I don't remember how. I guess I didn't have any special tactic.

(at which point the "big ship" weapon tag kicks in and it becomes invulnerable to fighter weapons) They usually die long before it gets to the critical mark, but they are able to damage it enough for the Aquitaine to destroy it later on. Also, if the Aquitaine is able to leave with at least 60% hull integrity, you get a shiny OOG medal.
The "big ship" flag always affects,
your fighter weapons can't damage big ships because of that flag. But your wingmates can, just like enemies. It might decrease damage from other than you fighters too, but I'm not too sure about that. And the ship becomes invulnerable to fighter weapons after it's hull is below 10% (not sure if 10%), but I guess wingmates and enemies can still damage it.
And the Aquitaine has to leave with at least 50% hull, after it has launched escape pods you won't get the medal.

That was the last medal I got, and was it third or fourth or what time I was going through the main campaign before I got it.
