I loved it, John hurt's doctor was amazing, i have heard people saying he wasnt dark enough, warlike etc but everybody seems to forget or they havent listened to the story, as he him self says he has been at war for many years and in the night of the Doctor, when the 8th doctor regenerates into hurts doc, he is a young hurt doctor. So his dark stuff was probably done early in his life, as in Day of the Doctor he is semi defeated, lost hope and tired of war and a old man.

i like Clara in it to.

I have 2 very minor dislikes and they are only minor

1. Coal hill scholl in Unearthly Child and Rememberance of the Daleks has the school being some distance from totters lane. Day of the doctor has it right around the corner.. So Ian and barbara could have walked instead they were very lazy and drove round the corner.

2. The Daleks dont actaully exterminate anyone!!!!!!!!!!! biggest problem with moffat is that he has said he doesnt like on screen deaths of people, hence why they keep coming back alive or die of screen. As since the Daleks came back in moffats era they have only actually exterminated 2 british marines on screen and thats it. I was expecting to see them exterminate some timelords, after all they were fighting in a war. We didnt even get the Dalek extermination sounds, it was a standard laser sound effect. Poor show on that part.

Overall though i did think it was very good and i cant wait to see capaldis doctor and i hope the rumours of what the newspapers have printed that he is only doing one series is false.

I'll agree with you though. Even as a war like individual we shouldn't be seeing him being all grimdark all the time. He's still meant to be a good man who has been forced to do some horrible things. In the end you can't get much more horrible than ending the Time War in the way he does.

But that's the thing. He didn't kill 2 billion. He didn't do what story to this point had said was necessary. He magicked his way out of it at the last minute. That's what I was looking forward to seeing, how does the doctor deal when all his tricks and magic have failed him.  And he was never very grim dark at all. Nor warlike. Hell he only shot the wall with his pew pewy gun. It was almost a dues ex machina, but I think that's Dr. Who in general.

I was expecting to see them exterminate some timelords, after all they were fighting in a war.

I think that was kinda the point of the time war - while the daleks and timelords were fighting it they generally were not dying in it - every one else anywhere and any-when was.
