I've been to other online communities, but HLP is still the most mature one I've ever been in, and for that alone I am grateful. Something tells me I've actually learnt a good deal when I was active here, but I honestly cannot remember what exactly I learned apart from using the free space on my hard drive as RAM.

It's good to see that headdie's been doing a good job updating the community's Facebook Wall. I remember deciding to post a link to every new highlight and major release on it back in 2011 or 2012 for fun, but it seems to have compelled a number of Facebook users to also observe and contribute to it on occasion. For once, doing something out of boredom seems to have yielded some good results.
Real-life has caught on pretty quick after I got an incredibly stable job in November, but even before that, my activity on HLP dropped off considerably. It's funny, because unlike Descent, which seems to have left some sort of impression that makes me go back to playing it once in a while, I've not had the same impression with FreeSpace. I no longer have the excuse of running FreeSpace on an Intelgrated because I'm typing this on a PC that has a proper GPU with 1GB of dedicated memory, an i5, 4 GB RAM and Windows 8.1, but I've not felt the urge to reinstall FreeSpace for a very long time.
