Problem with mediavps 3.6.12
So I've been trying to play some of the old Freespace 1 campaigns, most of which require the mediavps 3.6.12, but it doesn't seem to be working. I've checked the Freespace 1 mod by itself, and it works fine, so I'm quite certain that this is where the problem is coming from.

Upon launch, right after the opening cutscene, a pop-up appears with a warning message telling me that there are X amount of Errors with the mod.

Fs2.open log included.

(It's probably some little silly thing that I wasn't paying attention to as I installed it, so bear with me)

Found root pack 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Freespace 2\mediavps_3612\MV_Effects.3612.vp' with a checksum of 0x9c510aa0
You seem to have MV_Effects.3612.vp but not MV_Effects.vp.

Have you run the installer? It will update all your files and add the ones your missing. It is a great help.

Got it. I just copied and pasted the one from the 2014 vps to the 3.6.12 folder... no more error message at the beginning. Haven't tried gameplay with it yet, so we'll see if that fixes it.

:wtf: No, no, no, no, no. Under no circumstances attempt to play FSO with the 3.6.12 MediaVPs, but using the 2014 MediaVPs' MV_Effects.vp. Grab the correct version from here instead.

Ok, so I just made sure that I have all the files I need, and that checks out. However, now my problem is that I can't actually see my game run. It just minimizes and runs in the background.

Edit: So I can get the game running up to full screen, but I have to right click the current session, click on the game again, and it will launch another game which actually works. Any idea how to fix this little thing?

Whoops, forgot that log was still there.
Everything is good now. I guess that the launcher was trying to play jokes on me with the whole randomly minimizing thing.
