EA are not some weak Buntu. If there is a need, they will find a way to satisfy it :].

No ammount of detail or paint is going to the make Lindos not a pain to frame ... Looks good though.
"When you work with water, you have to know and respect it. When you labour to subdue it, you have to understand that one day it may rise up and turn all your labours into nothing. For what is water, which seeks to make all things level, which has no taste or colour of its own, but a liquid form of Nothing?" - Graham Swift, Waterland

"As you sought to steal a kingdom for yourself, so must you do again, a thousand times over. For a theft, a true theft, must be practiced to be earned." - The terms of Nysa's curse, Pathfinder: Kingmaker

"...because they are not Dragons."

Believe me, development process was as wicked and twisted, as the design actually is... And equally satisfying.

Raven2001's old, dumped destroyer. I picked it up to test detail ideas for upcoming Terran-GTVA ships from Inferno.

It's not associated with any project so if I ever finish it, it will be released. It's large, 2,7km warship designed to fight large opponents, with it's pair of long-range, artillery beam cannons. Phaeton is lightly armored for a destroyer, so it requires bombers to strip off it's target from main cannons before it engages in mid-range combat.

I'm seeing a vague Colossus/Hecate/Solaris hybrid.

Colly and Hecate are probably only original inspirations. The design is much older than Solaris, as it was released in modeldump probably in 2005.

Perhaby Colt meant the INFR1 Solaris? Or the BP one?

Those fins appear to lack purpose.  Could they be some kind of jamming pannels designed to prevent lock of enemy torpedoes with EMP, or jam beams a la BP?

Tell that to a Hecate. :D

I like to think of the Hecate's panels as being a sort of extra layers of armour to protect critical systems in the front or something from attacks to the side. The wing-like panels towards the back? I dunno. Well, you get to take off from them at one point I guess.

In regard to the Solaris, I was referring to the BP one.

I thought about Hecates wings as some sort of ablative armor, that prevents bombs from exploding on the main hull of the ship (atleast the most pivotal points, like the hangar).

It looks like it was a "first draft" of the GTD Golgotha from BWO.

Doesn't the design of the Golgatha date back to 2000 or 2001?

The Golgatha was already present in the BWO trailer from 2000 or 2001, Ravens model dump was 2004/5. Don't know what you mean with Archangel~

The BWO trailer can be downloaded here.

Yeah but it's just confusing. 2001 is over and it's still not out.

Re: What are you working on?

Progress on Monsieur LeBrrt is slow. UV'ing this thing is hurting my fingers :( Meanwhile, I have other models that haven't yet been textured. I dare not dream of the time when I have to get around doing it.

This is the Gale, a ~16m long Loki/Dragon equivalent, for buzzing around the player and giving them headaches. Can be fitted with conformal fuel tanks.

The Hyacinth is a medium-sized multipurpose craft that can serve a variety of purpose. Here, one is shown with cargo bay doors open and another mounted with a MASER cannon for anti capital ship duty. (size and firepower equivalent to a homeworld 2 corvette)

The Swordfish is a class of fast frigates ostensibly designed for counter-piracy missions. Officially, their sleek, "civilian" shape makes them less confrontational than blocky military ships when policing space lanes. They can also operate in atmosphere and underwater. Special warfare variants of this ship carry subspace devices that allow it to submerge in subspace as well, allowing them to move into position undetected and, using specialised torpedoes, attack targets in realspace. (size and firepower equivalent to a homeworld 2 frigate)

The Hurricane-class expands on the Swordfish concept to create a slightly larger vessel with additional weapons systems for high-intensity warfare. (size and firepower equivalent to a homeworld 2 frigate)

The Type 075 Lisbik-class Destroyer is a mainstay destroyer designed to be cheap, heavily armoured and well armed. (size and firepower equivalent to a homeworld 2 frigate)

The Takov-class cruiser is the backbone of the fleet. (size and firepower equivalent to a homeworld 2 destroyer)
