Hmm... i was planning a massive fleet HQ station (before I started the campaign) - but there's not much point if you can only dock 1 ship at a time.

Still, might have a shot at it regardless

Personally I'm not planning for The Babel Effect to at all be in this sort of "arms race" that we have going here

The GVJ Semnai and another, quite frightening craft being done by Sandwitch will more than be giants in the playground for players.

There is a point where a ship is too large for the player to interact with it effectively, but namely this is due to poor ship design.

For centuries we have dreamt of flying; recently we made that come true: we have always hankered for speed; now we have speeds greater than we can stand: we wanted to speak to far parts of the Earth; we can: we wanted to explore the sea bottom; we have: and so  on, and so on: and, too, we wanted the power to smash our enemies utterly; we have it. Look at the size of those things!!!
For comparison once I made three missions, each one had all the ships etc (cargo, stations, everything) from each of the three species in FS2, and they were all in line from largest to smallest...
Do you know how long it took to fly from one end to the other (especially of the Terran one since they have the most ships)!?!
Imagine including these ships!?!
How long does it take to fly around that jellyfish one?

I'm not including anything much bigger than the Hades (the Mars and the Cernunnos measure up at ~3750m) because personally, I thought the Saths and the Collosus were TOO DAMN BIG! Flying the Ptah around the Sath felt more like an obstacle course! Oh yes, and congratulations to Sandwich. Glad to know someone else here appreciates the movie with the best swordfight of all time.

I was under the impression that if 2 ships docked simultaneously wierd stuff happened.

I tried that too. As soon as you dock the second ship, the first one detaches. But it doesn't tell you.

It does, i've seen missions where freaky things happen if two ships are docking at the same time. However, and this is especially true for a fleet station, you could just START the mission with everything docked, and have things undock during the mission. You really wouldn't need to have ships docking during a fight, and if all else fails if you just give the ship a waypoint that snuggles it up against the station, is it really going to be a visible difference? anything larger than an argo isn't going to bother docking with a station anyway, usually. Its so much easier to just use shuttles for moving things around.
If it aint broke, break it!

Well, even though The Phantom Menace stunk as a whole, I think the it surpassed Princess Bride in swordplay choreography.
But of course, most of the swordplay in TPM was just for show and would have gotten someone killed in a few seconds had they actually fought like that. Even though it was impressive to watch.

Well, its not really fair to compare the choreography in TPM with other movies, because they used high-tech special effects to help them. All the fight scenes were done much much more slowly by the actors, and CGI people speeded up the film and altered the clothing and such to make it look like it was moving properly. This isn't to say it wasn't good, but they were able to do things with computers that the Princess Bride had to do with actual skill on the part of actors.
