I've had this idea for some time now, ever since the Hard Light Art forum was conceived by our loyal fans.  I know that a lot of fans here are MPC (Mathematics Physics Chemistry) people (or logic-based people.).  But with the conception of Hard Light Art brings out a new kind at HLP: the artistic kind.  I myself is a MPC by birth but at the old age of 37, I have found a new interest in the fine arts.  And through the computer renders I have seen here, I can tell that many people are also into the arts.  I remember starting a thread titled "The Iceni Anthology Poetry Series" and others have started "Freespace Haiku Series" after me.

What I request is simple: Create a forum dedicated to fan fiction here at HLP.  It may be fan fiction related to the Freespace series, the Homeworld series, the Starlancer series, the I-WAR series, etc.  Anything related akin to the purpose of HLP.

I personally have a chapter that I want to post from my fictional autobiography Nothing to Lose of a GTVA fighter ace who grew up in a world dominated by the socialist-like NTF regime.

HLP admin., please consider my request and if Shrike or someone can post this as news, I would be delighted.

It's been tried.  I attempted to set up a HLP fanfic database, but there simply wasn't enough content being generated.

The only reason we made an art forum was because there was a lot of art-type stuff being posted.  But there is nowhere near the amount of fanfic being posted to seriously consider another forum for it.

That's true, probably because all the good stories are in nodewars and/or Freespace campaigns.

If "fanfic" extends to anything of a SF/cyberpunk genre, I might have some stuff. But I tend to write A LOT when i've gotten myself started writing, so it might be a bad idea. And some of my stuff is really, really bad. As in REALLY bad. Dead dudes who don't know they're dead and ****.

Yep, read the blurb on the art forum guys - it doesn't specifically mean images. If you want an art forum then you've got one right there

Someone remembered me and my little site.  Not that I've updated it in *counts fingers* two years?  Maybe 3.

In any case, if you want to write stories and poems, go dump them on Warpstorm.  We're always open, even if we have to reopen after a while.

did u ever read the story i wrote for the begining of my moddification? it was like 15 pages (wow 1-2 chapters, and peeps inhere complained lol).... but it was deep i got some decent reviews. if anyones interested i will repost it.
