I still have my little theory that there's no such thing as bad music as long as someone likes it. It's a good thing too, look at how diverse music is.
I happen to disgree with you, Maeg. I'm not just going to leave it at that, I'll tell you why.
By saying that music which was previously qualitatively 'bad' and 'good' now has equal merit you destroy all reason that a person has to strive to make music - they can just dash anything off and it will still be 'good'. The object of criticism is removed.
Basically, rather than making the pretty-good-by-the-sounds-of-it new album they have, Coldplay could have written some Hunagrian nose flute limericks, and you wouldn't be able to say it was bad. However, since they'll get criticised in the current climate so people won't buy the record, they've tried hard to make a good album.

I don't think Radiohead have made a good song for aggggeeeeessssss........ not that I've heard. I can only remeber 2 of the singles from the last 2 albums - Pyramid Song and some really depressing one with a big heart and a train in the video. That said, Just and 'anyone can play guitar' are classics
Meh. Kid A and Amnesiac are two of the bravest statements that a band of Radiohead's commercial magnitude have made in recent years. Even though they're flawed, at least they tried to put down the guitars and do something different than
The Bends-era stuff (which I like, but) that everyone now copies or the feeble grunge of
Pablo Honey (which I really don't like, sorry).
And besides, everyone knows that any track off
OK Computer is better than any track off their first album.
