Jeepers! Thats a lot of information - and certainly inspiring stuff. Trouble is I don't think I can afford it at this point! But it's certainlty something to look for in the future, although if the bike got stolen it'd be a real loss. For the time being I'll stick to graphics (although some dynamo lights would rock ;)). Cheers though!

(And yes, I am in the UK :))

About the dynamo lights, two words: "Knight Rider" :D
SERIOUSLY...! | {The Sandvich Bar} - Rhino-FS2 Tutorial | CapShip Turret Upgrade | The Complete FS2 Ship List | System Background Package

"...The quintessential quality of our age is that of dreams coming true. Just think of it. For centuries we have dreamt of flying; recently we made that come true: we have always hankered for speed; now we have speeds greater than we can stand: we wanted to speak to far parts of the Earth; we can: we wanted to explore the sea bottom; we have: and so  on, and so on: and, too, we wanted the power to smash our enemies utterly; we have it. If we had truly wanted peace, we should have had that as well. But true peace has never been one of the genuine dreams - we have got little further than preaching against war in order to appease our consciences. The truly wishful dreams, the many-minded dreams are now irresistible - they become facts." - 'The Outward Urge' by John Wyndham

"The very essence of tolerance rests on the fact that we have to be intolerant of intolerance. Stretching right back to Kant, through the Frankfurt School and up to today, liberalism means that we can do anything we like as long as we don't hurt others. This means that if we are tolerant of others' intolerance - especially when that intolerance is a call for genocide - then all we are doing is allowing that intolerance to flourish, and allowing the violence that will spring from that intolerance to continue unabated." - Bren Carlill

Now that is an idea for a mod... drill holes in the handlebars and through the frame then put LEDs in the handlebars leading via a wire to a battery pack/switch held in the frame itself. Small, simple and eye catching ;)

I still think caterpillar treads on a bike are a good idea. You'd never have to pump tires again!

What you wanna do is rip off the cross-bar, seal up the back-end of the bar and re-weld it back on. Drill a hole through the main pipe thingy of the fork (the bit between the handle-bars and the actual fork). Then load a chunk of explosives down to the sealed end of the of the crossbar and load a modified arrow in front of it. Drill four small hold just behind the explosives and inset two wires running to a 9V battery or a taser of some sort. And in the other two holes put some tubes that run round to the back of the bike. You connect the 9V battery and BOOOMM!. Arrow goes flying out the front (as long as the handle-bars are perpendicular to the cross-bar) and two small jets of fire shoot out the back of your bike. The ultimate in covert urban assault vehicles.

that's why you get a CAR, where you can lock the doors and install an alarm system and chips to where they can't start the car without a certain key :D

Not really. You think I haven't experimented? It's no good for a racing bike, but...

Hell, you're right. Still good for when there's lots of rocks/bumps/cars/small children in the road, though.

How about big, eight-inch titanium spikes on the front? Clear the road for ya! And when you wanna park it somewhere, jsut go really fast into a wall, and it'll embed itself!

yeah, but that would still suck to pedal and even worse to be on, because rubber tires act as shock absorbers... every tiny stone you hit in the road your whole body will feel... especially (ahem) the part that's on the seat!!! lol

very painful after a few minutes

RUBBER cat treads!:D

Waaaait... there's an idea! Thunder! Hydraulic shocks on your bike! And a hugeass subwoofer hooked up to a walkman constantly playing the same rap song over and over!

You can't do tinted windows or running lights in the engine, but I think the effect'll still be there.

lol, or playing the same 10 seconds of a rap song oer and over :D

lol, i WISH you could just plug a subwoofer to your walkman... you'll need one hell of an amplifier, and since you don't have a power source (an engine to run an alternator or something) you'll just have to hook up two car batteries :D  you can duct tape them to the pretty pink basket that an0n recommended you put in the front :D

Hmm... a bit of an explosive hazard. You don't wanna see those little bastards when they catch fire. Or if you crash and get battery acid on your face. Best get a small gas/diesel generator and mount it on back. Counteract the weight of the subwoofer that way, too.

hmmm

very true, but i'd recommend a small lawnmower engine!

But see, it'd be hard, cause the subwoofer needs a steady supply of electricity, and engines are notorious for doing that... also you'd need to rev it up high, and therefore you wouldn't hear it over the noise of the engine

what i say is that you should hook up the dynamo to the subwoofer, and the speed you pedal affects the sound coming out... to slow it down (the pitch) you pedal slow, and vice-versa

lol that would so 0wn :D
it would be impossible though

The sound isn't the point of the subwoofer. It's supposed to make the ground shake to the point where the military confiscates your vehicle as a weapon of mass destruction.

and that's why you play 10 seconds of a rap song that has the MOST beat, then loop it, and burn an entire CD (80 minutes) of just the same 10 seconds...!

cause there's not many rap songs that start out with a heavy beat!  you want a constant heavy beat :D

If you wnat to use it as a weapon of mass destruction, then attach a trailer to your bike (heavy pedaling :D) and hook up a V8 engine :D )

Yeah, but then you start needing to get your legs and lungs replaced every few minutes, so the operating costs are kinda high. We're trying to keep it simple. Maybe a gun turret.
