I read a lot. ATM, I'm reading The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy (all four books). I just read The Lathe Of Heaven before that, which was exceptional.

What's everyone else reading? What are your favourite books?

Hyperion series rank up there.

I was reading some Ian Rankin novels (Inspector Rebus) - A Good Hanging (short stories), the Falls, Tooth & Nail, and about 3 others...

justnow I'm reading some novel by...um.... Paul McAuley called 'Whole Wide World', which is set in London after terrorists have wiped out most of the countries computer systems during the millenium.  Quite good, in a quasi-futuristic way.

All crime novels, BTW.

...Because you're a criminal mastermind? :)

In my book-pile I also currently have:

2001
On The Road
Captive State: the Corporate Takeover of Britain
Perestroika
(by Mikhail Gorbachev ;))
Brave New World
...And some stories by Ray Bradbury.

carl...uninstall directx and re install it. I've had this problem. Freespace used one verson of a dll, but that version was missing something, so that black and white wouldn't save...so after fiddling with install orders and DX versions, I got it to work...
Arrr. I'm a pirate.

Hehe, touché :D

Have any of you read the Belgarion Saga... it was one of the first Fantasy series I've read (all of them... Belgarion saga, Mallorean saga, Polgara, Belgarath and Riva's Timebooks -or how do you call it in english)  and I still love it. It's easy to read and IMO the characters are very likable.

Actually, I cannot play any games at the moment either. (I am on my dad's laptop, which is maddeningly slow despite its hardware, due to security software crap) It has been like this for a week, and I will probably have to go on like this for another week until my computer is repaired, but at least I still have HLP and my math...

I have read all the Sherlock Holmes collections several times; despite their age, they still remain one of my all-time favorites as far as novels go. (alongside the Foundation series and a few others)
