..saying farewell to an old friend :)
"As you sought to steal a kingdom for yourself, so must you do again, a thousand times over. For a theft, a true theft, must be practiced to be earned." - The terms of Nyrissa's curse, Pathfinder: Kingmaker

"When you work with water, you have to know and respect it. When you labour to subdue it, you have to understand that one day it may rise up and turn all your labours into nothing. For what is water, which seeks to make all things level, which has no taste or colour of its own, but a liquid form of Nothing?" - Graham Swift, Waterland

Nope. Just Black Wolf's GTI Veles.

I edited a bit though. It's actually intended to be a Hecate hangar, but BW was the only one who ever made detailed hangarbay so I had to work with that one.

Re: Screencap Contest: December 2019
It's time for me to strike! :D

First batch, my Aftermath leftovers:
Hidden Text: Show

A Ravana being gutted by a couple of destroyers.

This convoy is in some trouble.

FS2 era Allied capships... Actually being on the offensive?

One pilot's desperate fight for survival.

SOC wing, made out of new generation fighters, in an atmospheric scout mission.

The same wing being picked up by their carrier.

A Terran destroyer just moments before attempting to break through a Shivan blockade.

The battle ensues.

A nice missile salvo, with a capship battle in the background.

Narrow escape, thanks to other fleet units.

Even when you think they've been blinded by the star, Shivans will always find you.

GTCv Olympus can deliver really tough punches, though. I personally like this shot very, very much.

Shivan fighters, swarming an Allied station.

Another one of these shots I'm really proud of. Just a pair of fighters with some cruisers in the background.

Terran fighters like swarm missiles.

One does not simply be in front of the Sathanas.

Unless you've got proper firepower, that is.

Bombing runs need good bombers.

And good bombers need good fighter cover.

Just don't even try getting nearby this fighter dakka.

Good bombers, good fighters, good hits.

For a slight change of pace, get some green battle.

Sometimes you wonder: how did I even get here?

On one side, a hefty blockade...

And on the other side, a double furball.

Now, a couple FS1 era shots:
Hidden Text: Show

The new and pretty Fenris, covering some cargo haulers.

Someone tries to steal that cargo right in front of that Orion's nose.

A Hammer of Light cruiser engaging the destroyer.

The new and pretty Laviathan fending off a Lilith.

A bomber wing among some Vasudan wreckage.

Are you getting flashbacks yet?

And onto FS2 era climates:
Hidden Text: Show

If I were the Reuil's crew, I'd be very scared.

A destroyer duel.

A snippet from the FSO Trailer.

Now, onto several of my chronological shots from FS2.

Battered transports finding their long awaited rescue.

A scouting mission.

I wonder why didn't anyone unlock the beams on these ships.

Moody Shivans.

Classic blockade.

The new Hercules Mk2 is glorious.

And a flyby shot.

Pilot investigating the glorious textures, and also the reason for the red light to disappear when close enough.

Green beamz.

Ship-to-ship missiles!

You don't survive the assumption that the Iceni is merely a heavier armored Deimos.

There's no more effective way to swat some incoming bombers than with the main beams.

Now, see, that's a really brave pilot.

The Colossus really has got some strange green weapon points.

Whew, that was a big bunch.

How do you kill a hydra?

You starve it to death.

Once before, and once recently. I've taken about 200ish screens from the latest playthrough.

Re: Screencap Contest: December 2019
In regard to the Psamtik not being beam-freed (too lazy to quote and find that one :p), I like BP's lore for the Hatshepsut. Basically to conserve power they turned beams off to jump between battles faster, using the destroyer's mortars and AAAF beams to resolve engagements while relying on its armour. It became a morale crusher for the NTF.

Re: Screencap Contest: December 2019
Less firepower so you can run away from a battle that you're going to loose due to the lack of firepower? :wtf: The Sobek seems to be better at murdering fighters (in particular compared to its size) anyway.

Re: Screencap Contest: December 2019
You don’t need BVas to munch through cruisers.

Re: Screencap Contest: December 2019
NTF had a decent amount of Deimos corvettes too. Perhabs it's good against Shivans as long as there are no destroyers in the area of engagement.

Re: Screencap Contest: December 2019
There are literally no Deimos corvettes in The Romans Blunder. We see what the Psamtik does about Deimos corvettes in Surrender, Belisarius.

Re: Screencap Contest: December 2019
Thought that was some broader strategy not just 2 missions, sry.
