I've got an idea I'm toying with (for RL™, not HLP), and I want to find out how useful it might be. But I don't want to show my hand - not quite yet. :)

So vote away, please, and don't mind being guinea pigs in my little maze... :D :p

"...The quintessential quality of our age is that of dreams coming true. Just think of it. For centuries we have dreamt of flying; recently we made that come true: we have always hankered for speed; now we have speeds greater than we can stand: we wanted to speak to far parts of the Earth; we can: we wanted to explore the sea bottom; we have: and so  on, and so on: and, too, we wanted the power to smash our enemies utterly; we have it. If we had truly wanted peace, we should have had that as well. But true peace has never been one of the genuine dreams - we have got little further than preaching against war in order to appease our consciences. The truly wishful dreams, the many-minded dreams are now irresistible - they become facts." - 'The Outward Urge' by John Wyndham

"The very essence of tolerance rests on the fact that we have to be intolerant of intolerance. Stretching right back to Kant, through the Frankfurt School and up to today, liberalism means that we can do anything we like as long as we don't hurt others. This means that if we are tolerant of others' intolerance - especially when that intolerance is a call for genocide - then all we are doing is allowing that intolerance to flourish, and allowing the violence that will spring from that intolerance to continue unabated." - Bren Carlill

YES!  EBERT BETTER GIVE A MOVIE THE RIGHT REVIEW OR I'LL SHOOT'EM!!!   Guess what I voted! :D
It's a fact.  Stupid people have stupid children.  If you are stupid, don't have sex.  If you insist on having sex.  Have sex with animals.  If you have sex with an animal.  Make sure the animal is smarter than you are.  Just encase of some biological fluke you and the animal have offspring, they won't be as stupid as you are.   One more thing.  Don't assume the animal is protected.  If the animal has a condom, or if female some interuterian device, insist they wear it.  Help stop this mindless mindlessness.  Keep your stupidty to yourself.  This message was brought to you by the Committee of Concerned Citizens that are Smarter than You are.

So long as i get the cheese, I don't mind being part of your experiment...

Hey, wait a minute! Mice eat cheese, not guinea pigs! I want out of this experiment! Noooooooooooooooooooo... ;) :D

As for the vote, I take what movie reviewers say with a grain of salt. Their opinions matter to me, but not that much. There were quite a few movies I liked that they didn't, go figure.

I don't read movie reviews much, but I would otherwise go for the first option, of course. All these things are completely subjective to likes and dislikes. :p

I don't usually read movie reviews (unless I've already seen the movie :p), but I would say it's fairly important...otherwise, why read the review?

One of my friends has almost the exact same taste in movies that I do... so I just listen to him...

I read the stupid things for the movies I don't want to see, and laugh at the stupid things people pay $6 to see. Now, if you'll excuse me, back to LotR....

As long as the reviewer says why he/she doesn't like it - other than "I don't like war movies, etc" - I don't really mind.

i'll watch any movie as long as it's not too much of something, like for example if the entire movie is about shooting people, or if the entire movie is about having sex...

there's exceptions though :D

Dude, what's wrong with movies that are just about having sex?

I've recently rented a number of videos that got bad press and found them to be absolutely stunning 4/5 star movies in my book. Reviewers tend to screw up more than get it right...at least for my tastes.

Exactly my point - how important is it to you, or perhaps I should say, how helpful would it be, to finally discover a movie reviewer whose biased opinions and bizzare tastes match yours?
