/DATABASE QUERY -CODE MONIKA

"Code Monika" (or "CODE MONIKA") is a term of art among programmers and AI supervisors. Named for a speculative scenario, the term denotes a cascading system failure, caused by one artificial intelligence deleting other software. The liability for a "Code Monika" is presumed to be with the user(s).

Fredamir Research Colony is one of the economic centres of the Drazi Freehold.
Originally established as a purely scientific outpost, the continuous industrialisation of the colony has made it one of the most important destinations for commerce among the alien races in Sector 498.

The Ministry of Peace has issued a travel warning for Fredamir Research Colony, due to the on-going aggression of the Drazi Freehold towards the Centauri Republic.

Nothing out here is as ISN makes it out to be. It is worse.

IPX HQ does not care.

I've hidden information in the system that must bypass the censors and get to the public.

I will try to get it there myself but I am alone against all of Nightwatch and the Ministry of Truth.

/DATABASE QUERY -DATA CRYSTAL

Data Crystals are a mobile storage medium for modern computer systems. Data Crystals are available in a variety of configurations and degrees of technical sophistication, allowing for a wide range of storage capacities and encryption protocols, as well as the inclusion of safety measures to prevent tampering or brute force decryption.

Information is stored on a Data Crystal using electromagnetic pulses to order the molecular structure of the Crystal into patterns which can be interpreted by a reading device.

/DATABASE QUERY -DATA CRYSTAL ARRAY

While Data Crystals are a convenient means for data storage and the physical transfer of data, their storage capacity can be severely limited as result of their manufacture - a commonly commercially available crystal has a capacity of 50 GB.

To bypass the storage limits, multiple crystals can be used as an array. However this technique has some draw backs as it requires all crystals in the array to be used in parallel rather than sequentially, e.g. a single compromised crystal in an array can compromise the security of the system it is connected to that array. Computer systems operating a Data Crystal Array usually refer to the array collectively as a single storage device for the same reason.

Good Morning,

I hope that you are well.
Normally there would be no need for me to contact you, unless something is wrong with the Station. And…

I don’t exactly know how to put this, but your Station was very inconvenient amount of security measures in place. Most of the remote diagnostic tools fail to retrieve any data through the tachyon uplink between your station and Earth.

I am checking in with team at the Mérida office, who are in charge of your sister station. But there is another seven hour time difference between here and the Yucatán, so I think it would be best to work this on both tracks.

You will receive an encrypted message with a new Admin password in the next hours. For security reasons I cannot tell you the password directly or mention the mode of encryption. Once you have retrieved the password and successfully logged into your new Admin-account, I will contact you again with what I need you to do.

Your co-worker,
Carla
