It was quite a surprise for us but Salo said that they have been discussing about this for the last three months (the Chief of Toyota F1 Team and Salo), so...

He actually said also that he's going to retire from racing business... at least for a while. "I'm getting too old for F1's" (He's 35... if I recall right)
So the both Mika's are out... after this season.

Nevertheless Salo is not going to loose up before this season is over... so he's going to drive as well as the car will let him

I'm thinking they're called "pilots" because it implies more skill than "drivers", because most Americans are drivers. However, most Americans aren't pilots.
