Inspired by Valve's Portal ARG (Alternate Reality Game), which was used to promote Portal 2, will there be a FreeSpace ARG? If so, what will it be?

The community may have given the go-ahead, since FreeSpace 2 is soon nearing the 20th anniversary.

It may be cross-mod... But I have no details about it.

Yeah, a FS ARG would be a really cool idea.  I wonder why no one's ever thought of it before?

I have a lot of ideas what the FS ARG should be.

It may be featured in a small campaign set in the time period of FS2.

It may be featured in updates to existing mods such as Between The Ashes, Inferno, and Blue Planet. Valve did this via updates to Portal in March 2010, so why not one for any?

There is at least one speculation that it may promote my project, Shattered Stars: A Deepness Within, in some form. One may see hints pertaining to the game, but it can also promote other projects. It can also be seen as an effective way to extend not only the FreeSpace universe, but also the universes of other games, such as the UGSF (eight months ago, one user notes there are many Galaxian assets there that could potentially form the basis for the Galaxian/UGSF total-conversion game, namely the UIMS forces).

Anyway, it can be more or less similar to Phoenix.

There were Freespace ARGs before. Phoenix is one, IIRC it was set loosely around Silent Threat Reborn and rewarded us with a new short campaign. The GRANITE HUNTER files are a result another one, set in Blue Planet universe, and the information that was obtained is definitely a very nice piece of fiction filling up the (already excellent) universe.

So, it's just another redundant topic. But if you feel like starting another FS ARG, in a way that would actually make any more sense than your posts, feel free to do so.
