I would prefer a thylacine myself those were cool little buggers, and I beleve there is one preserved in alcahol somwere, and I do beleve that makes a rather good DNA preserver.

There are actually dozens, all over the world, which is good because it gives a lot of potential DNA (widens the gene pool somewhat). And the project to bring them back is under way - it's also under funded and under recognized, but meh. That said, there's also a chance that the Thylacine is not extinct - 1 third of Tasmania is relatively unexplored, and there are still semi regular, unconfirmed sightings (kinda like bigfoot I guess, but meh).
