I was in an office full of machines, and we didn't require activation. Although most of the cd keys were lost, so we needed to use copies of XP Home. And then the MS activation process was such a waste of our time, we ended up just using the same disk and a crack/keygen.

However, if you have a legal

copy of XP Pro,
I'd say you have a reason

to filch

a corporate edition, just so you wouldn't have to activate,

and so you don't have to buy other copies of XP for (if you're like me) the 3-6 computers (166-3000 MHz) that you have around.
