Ok to those who ARE interested... I'd like to ask what division you would like HLP to fall under:

Science
Military
Trade
Security
Datamining
Exploration



Those are the choices I believe. There might be a miscallaneous option as well, that lets you do any and all... not exactly sure how it works. I sent in an app for a corporation now though.

My vote would go to Military, Hard Light Productions just seems to fit into the military sense well in my opinion. Wouldn't fit in the others very well.

Your thoughts?

I'd say Exploration or Military... more action that way ;7

'bout the site, the little dashed section under the navbar is kinda useless right now (purely for decoration) so I think I'll make a small text version of the navbar under the "real" navbar so people using text-only browsers can actually use the site.

Ah well, I've tried my own hand at doing a site... here's what i got so far out of a layout...

I can't seem to get my redirect to work AFTER the images preload, if someone can help me with that it would be appreciated.

I find that I consistently have to try loading the link twice before it will load - on the 2nd time it loads quite fine, though.

About the design: I really like it, with one or two points that could be improved:

- Too many colors; the intense blue in the top-right, or the nicer (IMHO) grayish-green of the page bottom, but not both. :) Also, there's a bunch of different colors you use for text... try and lower it to two or three colors.
- I like the HLP graphic you made, especially the contrast between the logo's red theme and the blue glow you gacve it - nice touch. But  try to include something that indicates that this is not THE Hard Light Productions... ;) Also with the top graphic, I'd recommend making it less wide, and moving the nebula further to the left. That way you can place a repeating background image of plain stars in the header section, with no discernable break between the header pic and the BG.

But all in all, quite nice. :) (Grids are Cool)

And, just curious, does anyone know of a good _free_(unless someone else wants to pay) PHP host, that has FTP access? Would be very useful as I can not leave my computer on 24/7 7 days a week...

And, if anyone in beta has an extra beta invite or 2, I could really use one... I've already signed up, but I doubt I'll get in, unless through 'darker' means :p

got into beta played arround and gess what its not even worth playing for free the universe is WAY too big that start you get a crappy ship no guns and a mining laser yay so you going to mine for about 3 hours then you can get a better laser to mine with so its going to take you a year or so to get to the final ship which i think sucks the game is monotonus and slow no manual control what so ever you can only point a direction to go in so my opinning flush it down the toilet

Heh didn't even know i got a reply till now.

Anyway, I should have warned you before(thought i did...). People with ADD(attention deficit disorder) will NOT be able to stand this game.

Everyone these days are soooo used to fast-paced, get to lvl 20 in 2 days type bull****.

This game is based on reality in the future... economy is mostly playerrun atm, it takes awhile to get anywhere in progress. I personally started about a week and a half ago in beta, and I already have a Cruiser and medium lasers/projectiles. Why? Corporations! Corporations help players out enormously. Its just the way things work.

darkspace on the other hand is get admiral in 3 months and then play another 6 for FA ;)

Heh, I played 4 months(3 months and 2 weeks actually) and got FA... then it got boring quick... so thats why I quit DarkSpace.

At least in EVE, teamwork is mandatory basically.

[edit] and btw, the nature of EVE itself repulses the kind of people that like to cause a lot of trouble. soo... the community is actually quite nice. Don't have people swearing left and right and all that other crap that most communities spit out in your face.[/edit]
