Consoles generally have miniaturized components, which are next to ****ing impossible to get normally and are a must for lots of applications. However, their parts also aren't compatible with a lot of things, are more susceptible to soldering-gun burnout, and people throw them out less than laptops.
PCs are good if you want something for a reason that doesn't involve taking it apart and stripping its components for something more worthwhile.
Macs are good if you want something that's like a PC, only slower, without a floppy drive or most other hard formats, uses a mouse apparently made for people who can remember 50 different mouse/keyboard commands but can't get the hang of a second mouse button, has half the good software, can't be properly modified, and compensates for all this lack by having brightly colored plastic.
