Well here’s my character. I tried my best, but I’m no pixel artist, so I just knocked a few of the existing ones together, altered the hue and put a hat on. I did alter the face slightly so that it’s not identical. As you can see, I have made many variations, with different coloured robes, and different hats. I have yet to decide which is the best.



I am going to make a selection of hats, and put them up for download, so that anyone working on one of these characters can simply put the hat straight on. All you have to do is set your background colour to pure red (in PSP, this is) and then paste as transparent selection. The hats can then go straight onto the characters’ heads. I have made the following hats so far: Bowler, TopHat, Beefeater/Gondolier, Stetson, BaseballCap, and Glinsk. (a Glinsk is a tall furry hat that politicians buy to go to Moscow in)

All the hats will be in png format, because I get unwanted anti-aliasing with jpg, and most other formats would be too large. I have zipped them, and they can be found here

EDIT: Bugger! This is the first time I've looked at them at 1:1 zoom! You can't make out the detail! I hope this game will be fairly low-res.

The files are definitely there, your winzip must be buggered. You do have the facilities to read png files?

Eh, Petrarch, its supposed to have 4 character (4*3=12 poses) horizontally and 3 chars (3*3=9 poses) vertically.

Example:

Use this to place your characters. The lines are just a guide, they should be deleted when you are done.

The left blue haired guy is the default hero in the engine, didn't care to make it transparent for this screenie. The right char is a sprite WIP for Kasperl.

Well I'm only going to use one of the characters from that file, I haven't decided which one yet? This template you posted, am I to take it that I need that many characters? Can't I just paste mine into an existing one of those templates?

Bear with me, as I have no Idea how this RPG-Maker works.

Heh, no you can just cut/paste on it. Just make sure you save it as png and delete the blue lines

Good. Now all I have to do is decide what combination of robes and hat to have!

You can give your characters anything as long as it does not go out of bounds (see example sprite).
