I heard something about them reusing some side-scenes (not sure this is the correct word) from dark city in the first matrix movie.

Yeah good point. But that can be just to repopulate the "freed" humans. The ones born in Zion as free. So that the forth coming exiles from the matrix who "wake up" can have a place to go. Becuase there still seems to be a real world reason for Zion that might become apparent in the third movie. Like I mentioned before, if I would be in control of the matrix, I would just unplug any of the rejects and let them drown. Because they pose a risk to the whole, and letting them live would be a risk. But perhaps the matrix has morals we don't know of yet? Maybe deep down in its code it can't downright kill all the humans, because it was humans that created them?

Good God, I've just had an idea :eek2:

Remember when Morpheus is telling Neo about the One, whom Neo is supposedly the reincarnation of? He says 'it was he who freed the first of us'... from a certain perspective, this would fit in perfectly with the One choosing a dozen pepole to repopulate Zion

Neo's not a virus neither a holder of any computer code - the architect simply reached a level of understanding that he can treat people like machines - their functions are so understood.

Neo's only a culcimation of the process - each time the Matrix with the option of choice is rebooted there is an anomaly that leads to people who can see through it - because the anomaly = the chance for choice - is involved in all calculations, it will sooner or later bring down the entire system.
However there's a point when a person will be capable of freeing himself from the Matrix on his own - remember, no one woke up from the Matrix on their own, only the One would have the power to do so.
So when artifically choosing people and "exiling them", the machines can prolong the time, since the humans would pick the "faulty" on their onw, furthermore, the One can be caught early on in the process, so thereby they have the first true symptom of the anomaly in their hand - who can be forced to recreate the entire system with the power of the anomaly itself.

Actually the Kid freed himself without any help. You can see the whole story in the Animatrix, but its mentioned in the movie as well as Neo came back to Zion. There is also another Animatrix story with an athlete who pushes himself to the limit until he actually wakes himself up. And a nararator said that there are some who have the ablilty to push their awareness so far, that they can actually wake up.

Morpheus also said that they had freed more people in 6 months than they had in 6 years. This could mean that the matrix is also starting to falter as well after Neo was enlightened. He has somehow affected the rest of the population.

But your on to something...

I loved how they worked tidbits in from the animatrix. Instantly knew who Noe's fanboy was :D

I wonder if they'll work in hints that refer to matriculated

Yeah, I think they might throw in something about matriculated in the third movie. Cause it seems like the third movie will mostly take place in the real world. A hint can be in the Enter the Matrix little trailer for the 3rd movie where Morpheus says "He fights for us." in a shocked tone. We don't know exactly what he's reffering to, but it seems to be something he didn't expect would fight for them. And I think it would be DAMN cool to see Good squiddies fight against bad ones! :D

Probably an AI in other words a machine - maybe they are forbidden to interfere with the Matrix - much like the way people are forbidden to mess with a nuclear rector - but they influence it with their own tools.
I guess some AIs were against enslaving humanity as a whole, or were against doing it against their will. After all they are another "nation"*s? * with many citizens.

Yeah you got a point. Funny you should mention that as well, because in Matriculated, its about humans trying to turn the machines over to their side. There was a discussion about why can't they just re program them to serve them, but the scientist said that they can't be forced to serve them, but they must be turned over by their own free will. The machines must decide to join the human cause. But the real irony is that the humans do it by plugging the machines into a Matrix of their own, where the humans show the machines a false world, better than the world they are in, thus urging the machines to join their cause, to fight for that better life. And the machines do so, believing that they are fighting for a beautiful machine utopia, when in fact they are only fed lies and false reality.

An ironic echo on how the matrix controls humans.

I can see it now...

Neo looks at Morpheus thoughtfully and grabs his shoulder.

"Morhpeus, I have something to tell you..." Neo took a deep breath. "YOU are the one!"

Morpheus took a step back and shook his head in disbelief.

"No you're the one!" Morpheus said, grabbing onto something, to steady himself. Neo smiled.

"No, you da man!" Neo said.

"No, you da man!" Morpheus replied with a smile.

"You da man!"

"You da man!"

"WE da man!" Both of them said as the happy heroic music is qued and they stand in heroic poses.

Yeah.....:blah:

No, Neo is the one... it's been said in the movie... if he wasn't the one, he wouldn't have been able to enter that door, destroy the agents, and talk to the architect...

he's definately "the one"... the whole controversy is that the prophesy is a lie... there is such thing as "the one" but he doesn't do what the prophecy says he'll do (namely end the attack on Zion)

"...The quintessential quality of our age is that of dreams coming true. Just think of it. For centuries we have dreamt of flying; recently we made that come true: we have always hankered for speed; now we have speeds greater than we can stand: we wanted to speak to far parts of the Earth; we can: we wanted to explore the sea bottom; we have: and so  on, and so on: and, too, we wanted the power to smash our enemies utterly; we have it. If we had truly wanted peace, we should have had that as well. But true peace has never been one of the genuine dreams - we have got little further than preaching against war in order to appease our consciences. The truly wishful dreams, the many-minded dreams are now irresistible - they become facts." - 'The Outward Urge' by John Wyndham

"The very essence of tolerance rests on the fact that we have to be intolerant of intolerance. Stretching right back to Kant, through the Frankfurt School and up to today, liberalism means that we can do anything we like as long as we don't hurt others. This means that if we are tolerant of others' intolerance - especially when that intolerance is a call for genocide - then all we are doing is allowing that intolerance to flourish, and allowing the violence that will spring from that intolerance to continue unabated." - Bren Carlill
