Umm... let me take a wild guess here and say because they can complain to Gamespy about us being a warez site and shut our asses down? Yeah, that seems to fit. Unless you're planning on hosting a few gigs of files and enough bandwidth to support the incursion of thousands of parasites a day, I really don't recommend you consider anything to honk off Gamespy too greatly. It's fun when you're not a dependent (like me), but they've got short tempers (which I can attest to) and are rather vital to the community's proper operation (which the admins can, if they ever bother to show up).

As it is, we don't do ****, promote a game so old even in the most perverse suit's mind there's no way for them to sell it or anything, and take up an obscene amount of space. No point in HLP making a worse tenant of itself than it already is. Independent satellites and private operations running under the radar on the forums, on the other hand... bwahaha.

Ok, let's do this. someone put these in chronological order:

Intro
Ancients 1
Lab
Ancients 2
Command Breifing
Ancients 3
Hallfight
Ancients 4
Ancients 5
EndGame

We release them in chronological order. I'm doing Intro this moment, so wait for it. Try to release them at a good balance of quality and filesize - usually around a 700-900 bitrate in DivX 5.0x is fine; I'm trying our 2-pass encoding ATM to see how it looks. Will post more in a sec.

"...The quintessential quality of our age is that of dreams coming true. Just think of it. For centuries we have dreamt of flying; recently we made that come true: we have always hankered for speed; now we have speeds greater than we can stand: we wanted to speak to far parts of the Earth; we can: we wanted to explore the sea bottom; we have: and so  on, and so on: and, too, we wanted the power to smash our enemies utterly; we have it. If we had truly wanted peace, we should have had that as well. But true peace has never been one of the genuine dreams - we have got little further than preaching against war in order to appease our consciences. The truly wishful dreams, the many-minded dreams are now irresistible - they become facts." - 'The Outward Urge' by John Wyndham

"The very essence of tolerance rests on the fact that we have to be intolerant of intolerance. Stretching right back to Kant, through the Frankfurt School and up to today, liberalism means that we can do anything we like as long as we don't hurt others. This means that if we are tolerant of others' intolerance - especially when that intolerance is a call for genocide - then all we are doing is allowing that intolerance to flourish, and allowing the violence that will spring from that intolerance to continue unabated." - Bren Carlill

Ok, the quality/size balance at 2-pass is IMHO the best, 950 bitrate. I got a ~19Mb file from Intro. Uploading now.

Will be finished in 45 minutes from this post time. If you try and download before that time, you're an idiot. ;)

I think it mean you need to change the movie.tbl (99% sure that's that it's called) it has the listings of all the movies in the game. Then you may need to change the missions too.

*phew* I'm glad you did it... When I tried to convert from the 1.8G one down, it would freeze video when Lucy is shown exitting subspace from above... *hopes he didn't ruin the cutscene for anyone*

Well, you can always play them after you finish certain missions once they are converted. Someone just needs to list when they play ;)

I thought SCP might of had some support for playing the exes generated by the MVE extractor, actually.... I remeber mentioning it to a coder on the SCP (name removed to prevent him being bugged about it), and it worked fine -  the only issue was the legality of including it in the code.

Diety confusion aside, can someone post a list of all the MVEs in FS1, in order? Thanks.
