There was a woman I know at my summer job who used to work on Broadway, and she met Arnold once, and she says he was a really nice, cool, down-to-Earth guy.

Arnold gets my vote to win (even if I don't live in California :D)

OK. I don't want to spoil the thread by making it all political (thus sparking another vicious bout of arguing), but I think I have to say this: While Arnie is stinking rich, meaning he's less likely to be bought by some evil fatcat, he's way too similar (politically) to the big W for my liking - he's a neo-con. (Me being a leftie, that automatically brings him down in my estimation, but I'll leave that aside). Also, he's been living the high life for thirty-odd years, which means that he probably isn't exactly clued-up on most of the issues that the average Californian is concerned about.

Having said that, I think (and hope) that he'll win, because he's probably the best candidate for the job. All the other Republicans are scheming corporate scum (not true, but that's what it seems like), and the Democrats are either too spineless to make any changes, or are just liberal Republicans. :blah:  Arnie probably won't screw people around as much as the rest would.

My ideal candidates would be Serj Tankian and Tom Morello (see Axis of Justice in the siggy) - they'd sort things out pretty sharpish...

I support the OLD Republicans (Civil War time, their rolls + the democrats were actually reversed then), and I hate the new Democrats, because they're too chicken-**** to do anything different. If they'd take a stand on one damn issue, then that would be fine, but they're content with simply hiding under a rock for right now.
Republicans (right now) are dumbasses. They're all about corporate America, censoring public information, and not giving a **** about the average working Joe or our enviroment. By all means, go to war against Iraq, but at least say the REAL reason why you're doing it, not making a fool out of yourself + making the world hate you by lying + then getting ccaught for it.

What UT said.

And "he's incorruptible because he's rich" has to be the stupidest thing I've ever heard, ever. something like 70% of Congress is composed of millionaires. Bush and Cheney are in the top .5%, pretty much, and they're both so beholden to corporations that they can't take a **** unless there's an ulterior benefit to one of their millionaire buddies. People do not take large amounts of money because they need it. Quit eating those lead paint chips.

They taste vaguely like Doritos without the MSG, I know.

I read it takes $3,500 and only 65 (sixty-five) signatures to become a candidate in CA right now.  Something like 10,000 signatures waives the monetary requirement.
