No, they needed to, they just never did.

They destroyed the time-space continuum like, what? Seven times; And just carried on regardless in the next ep.

Daniels is, but he took Archer to 400 years in his future to the Battle of Procyon (methinks) and the Enterprise-J to demonstrate his point.

The thing of it, except for not revealing himself right away Daniels has never been dishonest.  Sure he's held stuff back, but he does have to protect the time line.

The Enterprise is the Flagship of Starfleet.  it makes sense that they would try to protect it, I mean look at what Fleet had Picard and Co. doing after the war, before they went to Romulus.  Also, one or more of the F-Js could have been left as commissioned mueseums, like the USS Constitution.

I still think that the future where the J was shown isn't going to happen.  I don't think in any of the other ST tv or movies did they explain any big nebula like things in an "expanse."  I wasn't a huge fan of the other ones, but I think I'd see people reminding others of that.  That nebula thing in the future took centuries to grow like that, as they were tyring to make that part of space habitable.  I think this whole season is gonna get purged at the end.  The Enterprise was raped in this episode, and I don't think it would even make it back to Earth the way it is.

Plus, did any other ST ever mention the attack on earth that killed 7 million people?  It sounds like something that would at least be remarked in some obscure episode.

Not really.

The Bell Riots were hardly mentioned. And WW3 is only mentioned in passing. As are the Eugenics Wars.

The what?  Bell riots, is that the one in DS9 where the tattooed- face chick (or birthmarks?) goes to earth in the middle of some riots?

In the ST universe there was a WW3?  Didn't know that.  Never heard of a Eugenics War, was that before or after the Enterprise time?

Yes, the Bell Riots are the ones where Dax and co go back in time and Sisko ends up pretending to be Bell.

WW3 was the entire basis for First Contact.

And the Eugenics War was what produced Khan and his cronies.

Gotcha.  That's where the guy invents warp and the borg is there?  Which is why we saw borg in the enterprise series.  I remember now that they got to the past and it was right after WW3?

Which reminds me of a question I wanted to ask:  Does that old guy who invented warp have any relation to Archer, who's dad made the Enterprise engine or something?

No.

Cochrane was just an alcoholic capitalist.

Archers' father worked on the Warp 5 Program, and the facility was opened by Cochrane. And Cochrane probably worked with Archers' father now and then, them being the two foremost authorities on Warp Technology.

Did they combine the Eugenics War with WW3 in the official continuity?

???? WW3 was before 1st Contact, which was like decades before the first enterprise launched, no?  Isn't the movie where Khan was in like 150-200 years after that?  Didn't u guys say Khawn was from the Eugenics War?  And wasn't he a friend of Kirk or something?   I don't remember that movie that well.

Khan was cryogenically frozen and launched in a prewarp ship called the "Botany Bay". It was then found by the Enterprise, and the crew stranded Khan and his men on a planet. They then stole a Miranda-class 20 years later, and tried to kill Kirk.

Was that in one of the original episodes? I mean the part that they found Khan and stranded them on a planet.  I always wondered if he was in one of the old episodes.

Yeah, it was one of the original episodes. Space Seed, IIRC.
