Yes. Higher gauge, smaller shell. Anything below ten is pretty rare.

It's just ammunition, I'm reasonably sure weapons laws only cover the weapons themselves.

you can only own a gun out here if you're either a hunter with special permit, or you're a member of a shooting range for at least a year, your 18 years old, and both the local police and the gun club say you're fit to own a weapon. And even then you're limited to pretty simple guns, IIRC.

and the bright side is that gun crimes are fairly rare. The only example i can think of now are some rather infrequent mob hits, robbery's with mock up guns, and one time where a kid shot is vice principal.

Come to think of it, actually, hunting licenses are required in most of the US for gun ownership, too. The "pretty simple weapons" bit is iffy, though- the federal government pretty literally goes all Big Brother on you if you get a Class 3 firearm (machine gun, minigun, etc.), but you can still technically get 'em.
