I've never played NWN or any form of D&D (except KotOR). How does this Prestige class thing work? You get your character to level 20, then what?
You dont get to level 20 first. If you meet a series of requirements, you can advance into a prestiege class first. For example, the Arcane Archer in NWN requires that you're an Elf or Half-Elf, are able to use bow weapons and use arcane magic, plus a few other little things.
I have a character right now thats a Level 5 Ranger/Level 3 Sorcerer/Level 7 Arcane Archer.

KotOR is a modified version of the Star Wars D20 system. I said this in my last post. The Star Wars D20 system is basically the same as D&D 3E, as both are based on the D20 System, developed by Wizards of the Coast. Hence, both D&D 3E (NWN) and SWD20 (KotOR) use the term "Prestige Classes".
I know what KotOR uses. The engine is just a heavily modified NWN engine IIRC. But they changed half of the names for things (feats/skills/classes/etc.)(Fighter=Soldier, Ranger=Scout, Rogue=Scoundrel), you think they could have changed the name for prestiege classes...
