Okay, I really shouldn't be wasting time with this, but BF 1942 really caught me lately (and Desert Combat even more)... So, of course, I started to think that it'd be cool to fly some Freespace ships around and, well, here's where that ended up:











It's a very crude mod right now, but I kinda like it.

Oh, and thanks DaBrain and Lightspeed for the hi-res maps. I upped the poly count of the Perseus myself (screwing up the mapping a bit at places too).

If you wanted it to be really fun, just make some terrans, vasudans, a space skybox, all the vehicles you can handle, and you got yerself a sluggin mod that would give me a reason to buy battlefield...

I have it, it's called Galactic Conquest, go to fileplanet or somewhere you can probably find it. It's pretty sweet, no bots though, so it's a rough LANner unless you have tons of people. Hoth was cool, but I like the space missions better because I'm the flying type.

Ya know, if the converting GS-->BF iusn't too hard, we could really be looking at a full MOD if we just get a Vasudan and a Shivan model, plus a Terran soldier. We're talking one hell of a fanbase here. We would need bots, however. Now my exams are practicly over, this might be something I can help a bit with.

Can I just say that considering BF1942 as a base for an FS MOD or TC isn't as good an idea as it may seem. You can't really tell a story in BF1942, an element which is not only central, but crucial, to the FS universe. Without that, it's just icing on poop.
