I highly doubt I'd be able to get enough precision with hand tools and a drill press to be able to make a good quality lathe
in fact, often its more expensive to try to build one from raw materials.  Unless you have access to a high-grade junkyard where you can salvage parts from

Mito [PL]
the hardest part would be the "table" everything is on itself
because well, nothing can beat a ton and a half of strong steel shaped for the purpose

z64555
yes

Mito [PL]
Actually, seasoned ton and a half of strong steel shaped for the purpose

z64555
seasoned? what, you added spices to the metal?

And it isn't. It's me fooling around with the Tennyson (on FSMods) and the Reliant (from TVWP).

I think the other two images were taken by S-99.

The one of the sobek i took a while ago. There was a really cool one i took from transcend in an asteroid field that was on wikipedia, but they took that one down
Every pilot's goal is to rise up in the ranks and go beyond their purpose to a place of command on a very big ship. Like the colossus; to baseball bat everyone.

I won't use google for you.

Because the people from around here that edit the article to keep it up to date and modify it probably was thinking about different pictures of the scp.

The same reason they have neglected to even mention the "I herd u liek Mudkips" meme on their Pokemon article. They're douches.

In short, Wikipedia has a bomber's worth of regulations. Rules like NOR (No Original Research), 3RR (Three-Revert Rule), NPOV (Neutral Point of View), N (Notability), V (Verifiability), CRUFT (Fancruft), CIVIL (Civility), AGF (Assume Good Faith), WAR (Edit War) and so on.

All these policies make editing the encyclopedia very frustrating, which is why I don't edit it that often nowadays.

I edit it, just for the fun of seeing it getting reverted.

I've been blocked several times.

Well, if you've been editing as an IP, there's no way Wikipedia can block you indefinitely.

A lot of good editors have left Wikipedia because of the tightening of the rules. It used to be very simple. Now, it isn't, and I don't know why.

In any case, let's get back on topic before the moderators come in.

Re: A celebration of Freespace
I don't have my famous screenshots anymore. They all got deleted on an accidental formatting of the last fat32 partition i will ever use. I'll do a massive forum scouring seeing what i can find though. Speaking of which if anyone has the answering machine message i posted around here or finds it, i'd be greatfully appreciative.

Re: A celebration of Freespace
So I looked at the wikipedia entry on SCP and lo and behold, someone stuck my boxart recreation screenshot on the site! I should go back to that mission and try to stick in the destroyers in the background or something.

Yes, that's the one.

When I first saw it, I thought it was a remake of Exodus. Then I saw that Poseidon. ;)

I resurrected a bunch of my screenshots. It was really cool. It also took a long time
