Please don't revert!

For myself, I like it very much - the organic/flowing direction you took with the second try.

It also makes the ship a true big brother of the Deimos and the Aeolus.

Instead going back, go forward and try to integrate the old features into the new design.

I like the curvy engines.

Hey, Grimloq, can I use the Hecate thingy in Pathways after you've finished it?

cobra, heres a definition of HTLed ships:

a new higher poly model with the EXACT SAME STATS, SIZE, AND TABLE ENTRIES that can be simply dropped into the /data/models/ folder for the game to load up instead of the original one. they are purely aesthetic, no game changes, no table changes, ONLY new model and sometimes new textures (as will be in this case)

BTW, the caps are just to draw attention ;) not to yell at ya.

so, when i release the final .POF, then just drop it in yer data models folder. FS2 will do the rest :D

working on some modifications.... will post piccys in a little bit.

here is a front and back pic.

i textured the engines to show you where the 'ports' will go:

and ignore that little floating bit in the second pic- thats just something i had laying around :p

you like, yes?

[edit] polycount nearing 4500 (including turrets)  :nervous: but then again, you never see the ship a whole lot... i think im almost ready to call it done :) just gotta finish up the nose.

[edit#2] - and fighterbay :nervous:

holy... 3 large approvals in less than a few hours  thx all! :p

jetmech: antennae... i just hacnt gotten around to putting them back in yet :p (the old ones were buggy, too)

cobra: ok, no worries :) alot of people dont, and constantly ask if they can use it >.< kinda annoying after a while.

theres 2 'intakes' on the front, too. theyre hard to see in that pic... right the grey spot right behind the greeble on the front. thats a cool little intake thingey. :) itll be clearly textured.

BTW, eventually (ie, once i learn lithunwrapper :p ) ill unwrap this thing, making it 10X cooler AND reducing the number of maps needed, thus cutting out the 4500 polys :)

[edit] and any ideas for what to do between the engines in the back? im stumped... :blah:

 Hear, hear!

[Edit] I don't think you do anything in the back between the engines. Just leave it as-is. And to hear that it won't be over 4500 poly's sounds cool! No SCP Freespace version! Boo-yeah!

Maybe, but I think an Intel Celeron 2.7 GHz computer with Direct3D and OpenGL would probably make a difference. :p :D

eh dump the celeron and buy a real processor. try an XP or PIV no 64bit, it is not worth it right now.
