Are a couple of the best places to purchase parts.

As per you title, I think the Admins got annoyed with your requests in HLP Official Request Thread.
Uber-n00b: Basically it means that you are very new and green. And usually people who get to 250 posts from only a month of being here post alot of spam also. No insult intended.

And Staples, is a big huge ****ing ripoff. I should know, I used to work for them, bastards. :hopping:

Cobra, Staples is, with no shadow of doubt, the worst place to purchase computer periphreals.  They over price everything by as much as $40-50 USD.  Wal-Mart is okay, but they mostly only carry a couple of brands(HP and Creative, as well as a couple of off brands I wouldn't touch if you gave them to me).  Internet retailers are you're friend when it comes to getting parts on the cheap.  A Video card(Radeon or something) might cost $230 in a store, if you buy it off the the internet it might only cost $150 if you can find a deal with a reputable dealer.  And you don't have to have a credit card to make purchases from internet retailers.  The last time I checked, cnetpc.com/ accepted Money Orders, so you could save you're cash up and then make a money order for you're purchases.  The big rub with Internet Retailers is their return policy, make sure you understand it before you buy something from them, because you're likely to get screwed over if you can't meet their return requirements.

I act very n00bish, so I guess that's why I'm Uber-n00b. If you want it, act n00bish. I do have 256 DDR RAM, thank you very much. I got the tower, keyboard, and mouse (which I switched for an optical) for $475.99 or something like that. The AMD Athlon XP was over $600, for which I didn't have the money. To your first edit: yeah, that is a helluva lotta memory. I'm jealous.

Redmenace: I only requested once and I whined in one post. (I think)

But I'm an admin for Hades-Combine now! I'm the guy who helps out with adding mods. If you don't believe me, ask the guy who runs the place.

Thanks, but I HUMONGOUSLY screwed up in adding a mod. Now, why did the admins close my thread? I needed it.

What was the speed rating on that Athlon XP?  I only paid $60 for my 1800+ and I don't think any of the XP series is still $600.  Unless it was one of those 64-bit chips.

It was an AMD Athlon 1800+ 2.6 GHz, 512 DDR RAM, IIRC.

The 1800+ operates at 1533 mhz and you got supremely ripped off paying $600 for it.

I buy most of my parts here, cause it's in driving distance from my house and they give people who bring an online order form into the store the same discount.

There was probably too much spamming going on over there. Surprise, surprise.

Grimloq, any progress on your Hecate that's worth showing off? :)

lighty: uhm, im afraid the original version is prolly not going to be released... except:

i may make an 'alternate' hecate. not a replacement, but a whole new ship. tis mostly the same as the normal hecate, but it looks like my original upgrade (plus some) and maybe some different textures. so, you may get it yet :)

well, i had an idea. im going to try to make the engines have 'thruster burn' on the back (like with the myrmidon and the herc2) not really cuz it would be there, but it would look cool :)

$475. There was a PC that was the exact same in Wal-Mart, 'cept it was 100 MHz slower and it had a monitor. I was too eager to wait for the ones with the monitor, so I took the monitorless one. The one with the monitor was $495.99. Heh.
