I'll generally take any weapon, except for Japanese swords - they are nice, and light, but the actual damage potential of them stinks compared to other weapons. A katana slash probably would not even be able to cut through a thin mail shirt.
I've got a bit of a collection - A replica High Middle Ages longsword, a replica late-Roman short sword, an actual World War II-issue Nepalese Khukri, and a half dozen daggers and large knives. But my personal favorite item I own is this

Not a very light or 'elegant' weapon but still fun. If you can get used to controlling the weight. It is a bit hard to stop a swing of this thing at first. But doubly dangerous - it can function as a sledgehammer, or the spike can be rammed through a six inch or so piece of wood or a thin piece of metal.
