ah, nice work on the ares raa :yes: first time ive seen it for a long while...


cobra: TS3.2s real-time rendering is kinda sloppy, so you get little wierdnesses like that. im a lucky one, i got TS5

Others: I do not understand why I received ten times more *****ing and hostility after posting a three times better model than that, maybe something to do with nationality, again?

No... I think it was that we expected better from you. And when we offered suggestions on how to improve it, you said you wouldn't.

In all honesty, it really didn't look like a capship. It truly looked like a medical device, or flamethrower... To me atleast. But if that's what you were going for... then :yes: i guess.

model update: I've shaped the R2 unit, and i've thinned out the x-wing a bit.









I'm working on the nose right now.
To consider the Earth as the only populated world in infinite space is as absurd as to assert that in an entire field of millet, only one grain will grow. - Metrodorus of Chios

Make the wings thiner... it will improve on the model a lot.

I gave you both equal hostility :p And i think it has more to do with forum reputations than nationality.

It looks a lot better than that thing on the first page of this thread ;) :D

In fact, it probably looks better than this plastic model X-Wing I got a while back :D (Had no detail at all, but lots of decals. I hate decals.)

Do you have a decent model of an X-Wing (The original one with full actuation would be perfect) or some pictures to work from? It'd make your life a lot easier being able to refer to reference material like that (Although don't over do it and try to copy it *exactly* - It'll just end up looking crap)

actually, a toy x-wing that's not even sold anymore. The thing looks realistic, you can fell EVERYTHING on it. it comes with a tiny luke skywalker figure and an R2 figure that you can take in and out.

Update: I've thinned out the wings, and I did the bes I could to snub out the nose. Now I'm working to define the barrels.

How I did this x-wing model was by making about 3 cubes and then shaping them. As an Update: I added some definition to the engines and guns:
