i think il ask that gal out whos always smiling at me at work. i really miss my brittney but if she doesnt want to help the relationship i havent much choice but to leave her.  brittney at least taught me i could attract better looking people. it seems i have several traits that are very desirable to the opposite sex.

as Maeglamor said aiming too high can be a prodblem but all things work both ways, aiming too low can be just as bad. everyone thinks that looks are important. indeed when i met brittney it was her looks that  prompted me to give her my number. however i was amazed at how intelegent and creative she was. seemed she possessed all those traits that i deemed desirable. looks might prompt you to initiate communication but they are of little use once the relationship gets going.

another thing ive learned is to avoid people with too many preconceptions about the oposite sex. certain people have had such bad luck with relationships that they have fabricated a load of bull**** that they keep in their minds at all times and fail to accept the possibibity that everything they know could be wrong. theese people are on the path of a self fufilling prophecy of failure. they expect failure of the relationship and therefore it happens.

then there are those who havent a clue what they want and those who know what they want but havent a clue as to how to get it. i know this girl who wants a boyfriend but she continues sex-only relationships with a few of her male friends. shes refused a couple date offers but has asked me to sleep with her on more than one occasion. my goal has always been a long term relationship. its a bad habbit to form **** buddy relationships is this case.

the biggest piece of advice i can offer is just wing it and see what happens.

I have no problem with the gal asking first, why do they?

My ex-wife asked me via her brother - It was strange, I was just sitting in the pub minding my own business and this guy comes over and says "Do you want to meet my sister?" And about 3 months later I married her...

Of course it didn't last, but it was a pretty good 4 years....

Also you'll never be happy in a relationship unless your happy with yourself first, why are some people so convinced that meeting someone will make them 'complete', 'happy' or some other nonsense?  Maybe because we realize on some level that we are missing something? Nobody wants to be around someone who's an emotional wreck except really needy people who are emotional wrecks themselves, not the basis of a good relationship. So much for my chances then... Also, never aim too high on the looks scale unless you are very secure in yourself, it's an inbuilt human trait that you try to get as much out of life as possible but you will have a very happy relationship with a girl that looks 'ordinary' compared to a relationship with a stunner who makes you feel insecure because every guy is looking at her.

I didn't get my first proper date until I was 24 and it didn't go that great but it's all a learning experience and I'm getting better at it. Consider this, and it's a fact not a suggestion: You'll feel twice as bad having never walked up to the girl and asked her out as you would if you do and get rejected.I am not equipped to deal with that kind of rejection(not to mention I'd probably puke all over her).  I can can handle professional rejections of all kind, hell it's easy I don't gotta do nothing, but personal rejection requires that I put a part of myself into the formula that I may not get back and my psyche is fractured enough at it is. I refuse to live out life regretting every 'chance I missed' and you should too.

I wouldnt worry about it too much anyway. Half the girls I've ended up with were when I wasn't even looking. Sometimes it just happens. And it can happen to anyone, so don't beat yourself up if it doesn't happen right away. I don't care who you are, it can and will happen.

That's a bit sad...

I believe in duality... Meaning that two people are better off than one.  It's a good thing for many reasons, but just coming home to someone at the end of the day is good enough...:)

It has never and will never just happen to me.  I'm slow, I can't dance, I'm not a good conversationalist, I am a modest student on my best day...you guys don't get it, I fail at everything.

...now... that's just plain wrong. You should see some of the absoulte trash that I've seen married. If they, the absolute scum of the universe can get someone,, so can you. Some day, either out of pity, or out of genuine interest, someone will eventually take an interest in you.

But what you do then, is what will matter.

Hell, if I've been asked out as many times as I have (by both sexes, which I thought was amazing) then so can you.  Although, I doubt you'd like guys hitting on you. :p

We've been throught that though, I'd probably deck him...

It also doesn't change the fact that in my 26 and 3/4 years alive, I have never actually suceeded at anything other than stuff that didn't have a time limit or require much in the way of talent or skill...

I am in every imaginable sense of the word a failure.  I can see no situation where I would be able to suceed in a relationship, so I choose not to try to prevent the other from being hurt in some way.

Lib, dude, no one is as bad as you describe, OK? No one. So, seeing as how you fit in to the "not no one" category, I think you may be overexagerating a tiny bit.

There are literally tens of millions of people who would kill to be where you are. Minor social problems are nothing to really worry about, unless you're the type of person who likes worrying for its own sake, in which case be my guest.

Guess what? The world isn't filled with supermodels ad rockstars. Its full of normal people like you or me, and unless crocodiles bit off your face or something, there's nothing stopping your from getting (girl)friends and whatnot, excpet your own inhibitions. If you think you suck, its a self-fullfiling prohpecy.

Nobody for me... :(

There's no time limit on finding love, Lib.  It could happen tonight, it could happen when you're 45... just wait it out.
