Something rather odd just happened to me...
Ok... So, about 2 hours ago I call my friend. He picks up and answers. I hear in the background that he's at a bar. Then all of a sudden I hear a girls voice over the phone. I conclude that its the girl my friend just met and has gone out on a date with her. Anyway, I quickly realise she's rather drunk as she talks to me about god knows what. I respond with a laugh and all that. Then she starts asking me my age, am I single. What not. At this point I'm going "What the hell is going here?". She asks me if I wanted to come over, I tell her I can't, got work tommorow. She sounds dissapointed. We talk a bit more and then we say good bye, not before promising me that she'll call me tommorow.

At this point I'm thinking "WTF?!" I call my friend back and ask him about her, he says he met her a few days ago late at night at a 24 hour Mcdonalds. She's 19 red head and hot. I say "Oh, good catch." He replies "Yeah, I'm either beggining to like her or I'm gonna kill her." I agree with him cause her ramblings were quite tedious. So. Two hours later, 15 minutes ago. She calls me again. I'm rather suprised. I've never met the girl before. This time she's quite flirtatious over the phone and I can't help but respond. Then after a small pause she tells me she wants to meet me. Tommorow. Without thinking I say "Yeah, uuh. Sure." She's all girly and says "Great. Call you then." then she hangs up.

Now I'm thinking "Holy ****, what just happened here?!". Did I just pull over the phone? Did I just agree to meet the girl my friend is dating? Did I just pull my friends girl over HIS phone while HE was going out with her?!!!

Holy crap people, this sorta thing only happens in the movies. So anyway, I'm left with a predicament. Its obvious something aint right cause she's fishing. Me stupidly enough got hooked. Now, do I meet her tommorow? Or do I call her and say no? Or do I meet her and say no? Do I tell my friend?

To be honest, I think I'm gonna tell my friend. And meet her and say no. I've been in this situation before. But in my friends place. At school I was dating a girl, and one of my school friends started dating her at the same time, and then they got together. All three us kinda had a falling out after that. Now I never thought I'd be in the same situation again, AND to be the guy going after the girl behind his back. No. I'm not gonna take this any further. I guess it's nice to know I can get a girl to go out with me on a premise of two phone calls, but I won't jeapordize my friendship with my friend.

Sorry guys for ranting on like this here. Just needed to vent.  But what do you think? I wouldn't mind having Tiara's thoughts about this actually.  Get a woman's point of view on this.

I'd say be careful.. you need to weigh up what she's like in reality, how well you connect and what have you (face it, you've only spoken over the phone - it might go wrong when you meet). How much does your friend mean to you? Will he understand if you do get together with her?

There's also the possibility that she's just flirty over the phone and that she wants to meet the friend of her boyfriend. It could mean nothing!

Either way, good luck!

Looks like I might as well re-christen the "Hard Light" forum as "Ask Tiara". :p

"...The quintessential quality of our age is that of dreams coming true. Just think of it. For centuries we have dreamt of flying; recently we made that come true: we have always hankered for speed; now we have speeds greater than we can stand: we wanted to speak to far parts of the Earth; we can: we wanted to explore the sea bottom; we have: and so  on, and so on: and, too, we wanted the power to smash our enemies utterly; we have it. If we had truly wanted peace, we should have had that as well. But true peace has never been one of the genuine dreams - we have got little further than preaching against war in order to appease our consciences. The truly wishful dreams, the many-minded dreams are now irresistible - they become facts." - 'The Outward Urge' by John Wyndham

"The very essence of tolerance rests on the fact that we have to be intolerant of intolerance. Stretching right back to Kant, through the Frankfurt School and up to today, liberalism means that we can do anything we like as long as we don't hurt others. This means that if we are tolerant of others' intolerance - especially when that intolerance is a call for genocide - then all we are doing is allowing that intolerance to flourish, and allowing the violence that will spring from that intolerance to continue unabated." - Bren Carlill

I'd have to probably agree with you on that. Cause she just called again...

She was at home... Telling me what she's wearing, while she was in the toilet. Ok. I pritty much recited to her what I told you guys. She laughed, hi hi. But then she explained what was going on with my friend. She just wants to be friends with him. Which I kinda expected. So I found this as a good que to say " You know, he's my friend, and eve though tommorow aint a date, meeting each other will seem odd to him. And keeping it secret is not good. So you know we will ALSO be just friends."

She was like "Well, hi hi, you never know." I felt honoured of course. But I've made my mind up. I'm not the hottest guy around, and no doubt nothing would have even happened, but I just feel better in knowing that I don't even want anything to happen. I just HOPE TO GOD she aint as hot as my friend says. Or that she will be so hot that she'll be out of my league. Either way, I'll try and take a picky. :drevil:

So, some unknown girl at a bar calls you up, drunk.   Two hours later, she calls you again.

I'd probably do absolutely  nothing until I'm at least reasonable sure she wasn't so completely pissed she'll remember nothing.

Beyond that, caution.  If she'll drop your friend at the drop of a hat, she'll do that to you too.

Yeah, I'm HOPING she wont call me. It'll give me less to explain to my friend.

Now... Should I tell my friend before or after I meet her?

I'd vote before, but I lack relationship experience, so perhaps you should ask someone who's not working off of pure theory.

Meet her before, she may just want to be friends and just be a naturally 'flirty' person, it's easy to judge someone by their manner of speech, but, as you say, you've never really met her in person.

If you're that determined that nothing is going to happen then saying 'No' won't be a problem, because she is dating your friend and you don't want to hurt him.

If you've misread the whole thing, however, you haven't done anything to throw a wedge between your friend and her ;)

Has your friend shagged her yet? If he has shes a slut, do the same and keep your mouth shut, she wont hang around long. If he hasnt, she's a pricktease, and you're wasting your time. No other type of girl would ring someone they've never met from a toilet telling them what they've on.

Well, I'd certainly be in the negative column seeing as I've never actually been in love...
