I'd forgotten how awesome Halo could be...I swear, that game was just built for moments.

- Taking out two grunts, side-by-side, with one sniper shot
- Laying the smack on many, many grunts
- Blasting off one Elite's shield...he ducks behind a doorway while a friend comes out and shoots at me. Then he runs across the hallway and started firing at me. I 'dispatched' his buddy and then played a game of cat-and-mouse with the first.
- Wiping out whole defenses in Truth and Reconciliation with stealth...and then running in and slaughtering them with a pack of marines just for the hell of it.
- Every time I fired a sniper shot *through* a jackal to hit the one behind him.
- "You're all gonna dieEYAAAAAAHH!" *thud*
- Tearing around the first base in Silent Cartographer with a Warthog, wrecking havoc and running over anything and everything.
- Driving the same Warthog off a hill to land in the middle of eight Jackals, mowing them down while the gunner picked off elites and grunts (I helped too. )
- My favorite one...after taking out most of the jackals and grunts, I accidentally flipped the Warthog over while trying to drive over a rock, into a narrow passageway. Naturally, I walk up to it and press "E". Well, instead of turning it around in-position, it flew up and over the two marines, who'd been riding it with me. The marines watched it fly over them, land, set off several dropped grenades, and went flying with screams of joy.

Oh, and we need bumpmapping in fs2_open.

I think they really are saying "We are all going to die!!", not "You are....". Grunts are such cowards. And they usually say that while playing on EASY dificulty, wich doesn´t bode well for your skills.

No, I was playing on Legendary mode, and it was one of Keyes' Leathernecks who said it as he got needled to death.

And yeah, HALO rocked. I love to run around on legendary and try to beat a level using only one weapon... Pistol being the most deadly, plasma pistol being second most deadly.

Overcharged, drop an elite's shield in one hit and finish him with a pistol shot to the head.  More or less useless against the flood, unfortunately.

Nothing's really effective against all forms of flood, except maybe the pistol...and good luck finding enough ammo to use that.

Plasma pistol + Rifle, or Shotgun + assault rifle work well.

Once I get to levels that are predominantly flood, I usually will stick to pistol/AR or shotgon/AR when I've got ammo (the assault rifle works well enough on the infection forms, saving the more powerful ammo for real threats).  The one totally useless weapon by that time though is the sniper rifle; I still remember when I picked it up in Escape from the Control Room thinking "Oh finally, some firepower" only to empty every round I had into a single combat form without even slowing him down.

Yeah, I go through phases of hating FPS games as well.  But mainly when I try and play them on consoles - I just miss the mouse aiming....
