http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/tv_and_radio/4289915.stmBit old I realise*, but you really have to be pissed off at these people - threatening to picket a charity, for ****s sake!
This same loonie fundie group (and they are) are against the Universal Charter of Human Rights (because it isn't specifically in the name of God), shops opening on sundays, believe social security " rewards fecklessness and isolation", is against gun control, characterises inflation as stealing, states that speed cameras are (literally) evil..... and that's just the particularly nutty bits. (I think they also call hinduism as being in league with Satan somewhere)
But there's nary been a word said against them in the news or press. I mean, I'm not a particularly (if atall) religious person, but is there
any pretence in the Bible that justifies threatening a charity in order to stop it receiving a donation made in good faith? Let's not forget that the money is coming from people who paid at a charity gala, knowing that money was going to go the charity.
*In case you're wondering, it was prompted by an opinion piece in the paper today... I never realised just how fundamentalist-nutcase this group truly was
Oh, and don't think i'm having a go at Christianity or whatnot, but I feel the need to vent my spleen. Plus I know these people aren' reprensentative of their religion anyways - at least i hope not.
