Seems they had some color quality issues :D

Just found this out as I was watching the DVD.

It's the chess pieces in the millenium falcon, however, the way they are coloured, they look more like the Muppet chorus line ;)

I assume you mean the incorrect coloring of the lightsaber?  I'm pretty sure Luke's ANH saber is blue.

Exactly. He doesn't get a green lightsabre until the very end of The Empire Strikes Back, after his father's (and his hand) fall from Cloud City.

He had the best opportunity to kill Vader when he gave himself up on the Endor moon. All he had to do was build a trick lightsaber that opens at the wrong end, then when Vader turns it on to inspect his son's magnificent handiwork, he BBQs himself.

Err.... as far as the "intended" version goes... I'm not watching it. Everything I've heard about it just makes me sadder and sadder...
Wash: This landing's gonna get pretty interesting.
Mal: Define "interesting".
Wash: *shrug* "Oh God, oh God, we're all gonna die"?
Mal: This is the captain. We have a little problem with our entry sequence, so we may experience some slight turbulence and then... explode.

errr...maybe the special atmosphere in the millenium falcon turns green when it's heated by something as hot as a lightsaber.

Same here.  I have the original VHS versions; that's good enough for me.

lucas didn't do it, it was the restoration.

I wept. Mysterious forces beyond my ken had reached into my beautiful mission and energized its pilots with inhuman bomb-firing abilities. I could only imagine the GTVA warriors giving a mighty KIAAIIIIIII shout as they worked their triggers, their biceps bulging with sinew after years of Ivan Drago-esque steroid therapy and weight training. - General Battuta

I wouldn't have gotten the DVDs if my VHS copy wasn't on its last legs. I'm just generally not impressed by the changes, especially the truly pointless ones.

my VHS copies are in mint condition. :D

how can you say that about the changes? the special effects and ships don't look as crappy, and all that other junk.

Let's see, negative changes from Episode IV:
-They ruined the Krayt Dragon roar that Obi-Wan uses.
-Mos Eisley is now populated by retarded looking dinosaurs.
-Replacement of the wolf man with the wierd reptilian thing (the wolf man, though cheaper, looked better)
-Greedo still shoots
-Gratuitous Boba Fett shot at the end of the Jabba scene.

Advantages would be the nicer color quality, with Luke's training period excluded, the lightsabres, and the Biggs scene.

On the ships, I'm sort of ambivalent. They look better, but in some scenes they just seem a bit off.

you..are...an...INFIDEL. :mad2: if you like Episode IV, you wouldn't want the scenes and additions cut out.

the old krayt dragon roar was crappy, the new one was better.
