We're all convinced, Blaise is a FRED god.  The real thing, decendent from Olympus mouse-in-hand, to bring outstanding missions and campaigns to the mission-poor masses.  Bow down and worship him!

err....more like the crown 'prince' of FRED, considering that Karajoma came first :P

But hell yes, pretty damn close to God status right there.

I can't make any claims on how good my FREDding is until I actually pull my finger out and actually release a mission :D

I've been FREDding for nearly 4 years now and apart from the MG team and a couple of other people no one has ever seen a complete mission from me. :nervous:

Actually I've got the whole of next week off. I should finalise the TMA plotline and then get to work on SoR :)

To consider the Earth as the only populated world in infinite space is as absurd as to assert that in an entire field of millet, only one grain will grow. - Metrodorus of Chios
I wept. Mysterious forces beyond my ken had reached into my beautiful mission and energized its pilots with inhuman bomb-firing abilities. I could only imagine the GTVA warriors giving a mighty KIAAIIIIIII shout as they worked their triggers, their biceps bulging with sinew after years of Ivan Drago-esque steroid therapy and weight training. - General Battuta

Goob's a legend of a different sort.  He's your typical jack-of-all-trades, save that he's actually a master of several.  Though he's not quite as prolific as BR when it comes to the missions.

Thanks. :)

My problem is that, like karajorma, I'm too much of a perfectionist for my own good.  That's how Freelancer went from being a simple two-mission test of persistent sexps to a full-blown six-sector proof-of-concept.  And ST:R has been delayed for over two years because we've just kept improving it. ;)

Yep. That's my problem. I basically scrapped the original 20 or so missions I had already done for TMA when I came up with a better plotline.

Fact is that although a few of them were newbish there are some pretty decent missions in there that will probably never see the light of day because I feel that I'm a much better FREDder than I was back then.

I'm actually worse than Goober in that I've never actually released anything though :D

Anyway you know rather than talking we should be playing this no doubt fantastic campaign BR's released. Only about 3 of the posters seem to have actually played it!

Actually I'm going to split off the off-topic. BR deserves better than this :)

No, you can't. Man, I've never wanted to hit someone so badly...I've been FREDing since the game came out.

You and Goober already are. Just Another Day? Deux Ex Machina? ;)

If you slay Cobra with untraceable poision, I'll mail you a T-Shirt with "FRED Jester" inscribed with genuine moon-dust.

Just wait until we release GTI :p

At any rate, Blaise is indeed one of the best FREDers of our day, with more campaigns released solo than many groups on the entire board.

And yes, Goober has his own mark in the FRED community as well (Deux Ex Machina, anyone? ;) ).

Still, I think it's fair to recognize some of our new and emerging talents. Ransom Archein's Sync was one of the better non-BR campaigns released recently, and I've noted several members of my own staff as having great potential.

Perfect timing, AA  Indeed, Cobra, before you go attacking or even poking fun at others, at least have some backup to support your argument. Hell, don't even do it at all.

Not that Mindgames isn't going to be good  Quality takes time (well, in BR's case, a matter of months :p )
Spoon - I stand in awe by your flawless fredding. Truely, never before have I witnessed such magnificant display of beamz.
Axem -  I don't know what I'll do with my life now. Maybe I'll become a Nun, or take up Macrame. But where ever I go... I will remember you!
Axem - Sorry to post again when I said I was leaving for good, but something was nagging me. I don't want to say it in a way that shames the campaign but I think we can all agree it is actually.. incomplete. It is missing... Voice Acting.
Quanto - I for one would love to lend my beautiful singing voice into this wholesome project.
Nuclear1 - I want a duet.
AndrewofDoom - Make it a trio!

Blaise Russel is living proof that newbies don't have to be utter morons.

I think his first real post at HLP was to announce the release of his quad campaign-set, Sol: A History.

Now that's my kind of newbie. :)
