/me agrees with Anaz. All of these graphical/physics enhancements are all well and good, and I can't deny that I'm drooling over those screenshots, but in a way, I share the opinion of the author of
8-Bit Theater. The more that these systems focus on stunning graphics, the higher the production costs for games become, the fewer games are released, and the less variety we have to choose from. I think that problem even exists today; maybe it's just me, but I feel that most of the games out there are too similar to one another, and I'm not really interested in any of them. The only upcoming game I'm really looking forward to is the new Zelda game, and I don't even have a GameCube yet.

Maybe I'm just a PC holdout; I like the idea of being able to play 11-year-old games on the same system that I can play games released last month. And, with the aid of emulators, I can play games from just about any console out there. I'm not exactly full of money; I doubt I'm going to get any of these new consoles anytime soon, and if I do, I know it probably won't be the X-Box. You may call me a Luddite, but I'd much rather have several years between the release of new consoles, and much more effort put into getting the most of the existing hardware, than the cycle of having to buy a whole new set of consoles every few years.
