What about the Gunstar from the Last Starfighter? I know most of you guys are too young to remember that movie (=P) but the Gunstar ruled. It'd have to be a bomber, I spose, because its got five gun turrets plus four fixed gunpods plus buttloads of missiles =)

Gunstar? Way ahead of you on that one but my model would require some major work to get it low enough poly to use in the game. Also it's worth considering that the Gunstars where designed for two persons, the navigator and the gunner. I think someone over at the lancers reactor might have built one for SL.

XWAU base models have under 1,000 faces - what are you talking about!?   Most of them are in the 500-700 range if I remember right. Problem is, Darksaber is extremely protective of his work, so that's a big bad problem.

But yes, the Dxf barrier is a problem. Decoy once gave Force 3ds TIE interceptor (XWAU), so I guess I'll see what I can do.

Homeworld-Freespace 2 conversions work pretty well. I've managed to convert a Naboo Fighter for my friend from the Ep1 MOD to Freespace 2, and it works just fine. The problem is the docking animations and the shields are crap, but that's just my problem.

Oops, well it's a while since I looked at the ir site. However they are able to seriously bug the XWA engine even at "good" (if you assume a celeron 500, 128 MB, TNT2 Ultra as good, what it surely is for a game as old as XWA) computers, so I'm not sure how FS2 could handle them.

Year the last starfighter - you just reminded me of that. That was cool, I think the graphics were well good but It was a while ago (hey mabye FS and FS2 was just a test to find pilots for a massive space fight agansit the shivans???)

One of two ships I'd like to see are an Imperial-class Mark II Star Destroyer.  Think of how cool that thing would be if you kept just a few of it's dozens of turbolasers and ion cannons and replaced the rest with flak batteries, AAAfs, and capship weight beam cannons and scrapped it's TIE Fighter complement in favor of GTVA craft.

The second ship would be the Earthforce Omega-class destroyer from Babylon 5, of course.  Not quite as flashy as some of the others mentioned here, but it looks cool and has some nice armaments to boot.

I sorta nicked that design for the Rapier (well the front)... personally i have 2 projects planned for after the campaign... the Button Moon rocket       and the RAF SPitfrie (with propeller) - had a perfect mesh a while ago but deleted because i couldn't texture it then.

I'm beginning to come up with a lot of good ideas for ships now (had modders block before) -

Those stations were cool but Caps were far too powerful for their own good! I wanted to sit next to a cap ship and strip it of its guns - got close guns fired shields colapsed hull 10% a big warnning flashing on screen, then I died...
