They already have fairly capable ICBM's. Plus the Americans are the only ones interested in wasting their money on building more nukes.

That wouldn't work. Insufficient strength in the material to deal with the stresses. Mettalic hydrogen would work quite well, but that's a bit hard to stabilize :p

Without our nukes we would feel insecure. We like wasteing money and then regreting it later on. Its our way of life. Without our nukes we couldent take out chineese space planes when they get ahead of us.

Now...on to the discussion at large...China in the space race, if it is still called that...i think is a good thing.  Nothing like competition to propel things in the world of science....now maybe america will get back off it's collective ass and start doing something again.
