especially considering Kerry's proposed cabinet. Holbrooke, Albright, with the man herself, Clark, in some sort of consulting position. Its like Clinton never left, all his cronnies are back and itching to show how they too can govern with a total disregard for peace, democracy, self determination and the welfare of the people, both at home and abroad. But empire is such an ugly word, so in typical quasi-Democratic fashion, they give it a more palpatable name;  "progressive internationalism".

The Libertarian Party chickened out and elected the wrong candidate. Instead of picking a real antiwar voice, that of Aaron Russo, they elected some unknown so-and-so. Libertarian Jackass, a Libertarian weblog, suggested a grand idea a few weeks ago. They suggested that the LP team up with Nader to dominate the third-party vote, and give the two-part system a run for its money. With Nader as the main candidate  and the Libertarian candidate as his running mate (and VP, should the unthinkable happen), this coalition would get on all the state ballots, and would be assured a place at the debates. I don't know if you can picture this, but if you were to put Nader in the same room as Bush and Kerry, it would be a massacare. One can't put together a proper sentence, and the other has no values to speak of. They'de get ripped apart.

There is no real antiwar vote, so the legions of disenfranchised Democrats and Republicans would flock to the Nader/Libertarian camp so quick, it would make your head spin. But, unfortunatly, the Libertarian Party missed it one chance in history to make their move, retreated back into the shadows of the fringe, and so ended that idea.

For God's sake, Pat Buchanan endorsed Nader's candidacy. Pat Freaking Buchanan. He's about as conservative as they get.

Damnit, I swear, if the LP ever elected Justin Raimondo as its candidate and joined up with Nader (and perhaps other independents), I'de apply for American citizenship just so I could vote.

What I suggest you do is pick the party which you feel has betrayed you (if any) and vote for a third party of your choice to spoil your vote and make a statement. That'll teach 'em. Liberals complain about how Nader spoiled Gore's presidency in 2000, well damn right he did, the Democrats aren't pulling their weight. And you know what? He'll do it again this election, and the next and the next and the next, until the Dems start doing their job. Or, if you're on the Right and feel disenfranchised, vote Libertarian or Reform Party.
