Hey guys its been awhil...got a question [Digital camera advice]
hey dudes ..
i dont post here much  but i need your opinions\guidiance on somthing

ok,
i am looking a for a  good  digital  camera and i was wondering  which  brand  and  format  i should get
im looking for nothin  fancy or anything  extra  in the  package  just  somthin that can record about 30 mins of video

anyways  heres the project...

me and a friend are going to  flim a  special  on how to put together a PC step  by step  part  bt part  and will also  teach and explain  what  each  parts does (function , purpose) which im sure most of you ppl know how to allready but it was my webmaster's idea and
i thought  adding  and teaching  noobish  gamers to the audience would be a good idea i mean  some one  has to teach the noobs  ;7

anyways if you  can point  me to a good  camera  that doesnt  cost  too much  i would appreciate it

Thanks for your help in  advance  guys

Ehh, so long as you're filming in good light you could use one of those little digital video cameras that capture at 320*240. Or go up and splash out on a 640*480, MPEG4 effort at £80+.

For something more versatile and to last you longer I'd look at the Canon Ixus range. They rock.

I changed the title for great justice, going to buy one myself this friday for my dad. I've got about £300 to play with.

As I said the Ixus is the most versatile point and shoot model I've come across, but my Fujifilm Finepix has always done me fine (I would like an upgrade tho). A friend has one of the Sony Cybershot cameras and his results are usually perfect.

Then again, you can get unbranded models for a third of the price with usually the same features. For the average commercial user I fail to see the problem with lenses that are a couple of microns off what Canon use. Equally the difference in lens type can be a little over-played: A modern CMOS lens can compete with base level CCD lenses for most personal use.

I'd also say that the Ixus range is a good choice for your needs.

I wouldn't worry about it - just make sure you get the largest memory card you can afford.

Oh, and buy Fuji...

My Finepix 500 (about a year old now) has cool Macro zoom as well:
